Doesn't count. If you know anything about the Isles, you know we only do GM by committee here.

There is a walkway from the hotel to the arena... don't even have to cross a street. the food in the Bar at hotel is pretty good too.. Champions. Beers are normal for NY $97.00 domestic $142.00 a bottle import. Go Isles.. Pens suk.

I guess that's a good topic? Would you do Okposo for Luongo straight up(of course if DP was brought out)?

close... all players, prospects, waiver wire pick ups and free agent signings suk. I would say more "Angry Fan had enough of this crap" than Milbury. He like all of us are sick of this team finishing in the basement. Personally I believe the NOT trading any of the young guys and prospects will pan out in the long run but I have been saying that for a while. ..hence the kool aid.

Got some quick questions for you Islander fans. Me and a couple of my buddies are coming up to see the March 22nd game against the Penguins.

How much do the beers run at the Coliseum?

Anybody ever stay at the Marriott right next door? if so can we just stumble across the street for the game, or do we have to climb some barb wired fence? lol

Also, any good pizza joints around the immediate area?

Thanks a lot guys. Looking forward to seeing the mausoleum

- Francois Leroux

Beers are about 8 bucks i think. As for Pizza, check out Vincents pizza in westbury. The marriot is literally right next door and you can easily stumble on over. Roosevelt field mall is 5 min away and there are better places to eat (Houstons, Capital Grill) etc.

Seriously though I don't want to trade all of our prospects. If we could trade some for help that is obviously needed sign me up. We've got enough and that's coming stright from Snow himself.

To Recap reasons...

a. Luongo is going to make over 5 mill a year till 2022..
b. The cap is going down and not up... not many teams can afford that contract and it will be very tough to unload him. Canucks thinking they will get a top prospect for a goalie who is great during season but does not come up big in playoffs is absurd. The are getting rid of him for a reason.
c. this summer you can get Mike Smith, Jimmy Howard or Tim Thomas for 5 mill a year without giving up diddly. No one will have a ton of cap room to pay these guys.
D. We tried Lu already... EFF HIM TOO!!!

No, but only because I'm opposed to long goalie contracts altogether. It'd be a huge weight off the team's shoulders to buy out DP and get that nonsense contract out of here...why bring in another goalie signed for life? What if he gets hurt this season and we're stuck in the same situation? If Luongo had a normal contract, I'd probably do it.

The Islanders do have a very good young team. They will make some waves in the next couple of years. As long as you have solid goaltending.

I see the argument with Poulin and Nilsson but I also believe that Lu is a world class goaltender that got a bad rap. The guy would certainly help with our image(I know alot will disagree due to the wonderful image this team has)and shown that we want to win. The guy can single handily win games and you wouldn't wince every time the opposing team skated into our zone. One of those things I could see both sides on.

I agree. Nothing to do with his talent. I just never want to see another contract on the Islanders where you have to scroll to the side on Capgeek just to try to find the end of it.

a. Luongo is going to make over 5 mill a year till 2022..
-after the Dipetro buyout it will offset and give you guys someonw who will acctually play
b. The cap is going down and not up... not many teams can afford that contract and it will be very tough to unload him. Canucks thinking they will get a top prospect for a goalie who is great during season but does not come up big in playoffs is absurd. The are getting rid of him for a reason.
-5.3 for a very good goalie is not that bad, even with the cap going down. The only reason Luongo is on the block is becasue the Canucks feel they have 2 #1 goalies and that is just a waste of talent sitting on the bench
c. this summer you can get Mike Smith, Jimmy Howard or Tim Thomas for 5 mill a year without giving up diddly. No one will have a ton of cap room to pay these guys.
-No guarantees you guys would be able to sign any of thoes guys.
D. We tried Lu already... EFF HIM TOO!!!

We always seem to be a few years away... I honestly think once we are playing in a new arena and can entice a UFA or 2 to play here we will turn the corner. Until then we will just keep grabbing every former first round pick that hits the waiver wire (Hickey, Finley, Grabner, Schremp, Tambellini, etc. etc. )
