He was a checking line center and still put up half decent numbers.

I agree with Marty that he's overrated but I think his numbers will go up in Carolina.

He's still a very good player...but a very good player might be all that he is...he might not take it to another level like it sometimes happens for others when they get out of the shadows of others...(he had extended periods of play without Crosby or Malkin in the lineup and he wasn't lighting it up...he was continuing his solid work...).
