My bet- Connolly, Reilly and a 2nd rd pick for Luongo and Raymond
Seemed like you were on the right track, and then you drop this bomb...

Really???
But Schneider only has 60 games experience and Gardiner is a combination of Bobby Orr and Jesus! I'm amazed... - nucks_94
Really. Read the edit.
It all depends. Orr and Jesus or Brodeur and God. Hard to pick. |

Just because he has some ridiculous asking price doesn't mean he will get it. See Rick Nash deal. - BoBBeR56
So the Canucks should lower their standards like CBJ did and expect 2 top 6 forwards a defensman prospect and 1st round pick. |

Great player, huge yap that he can't keep shut though.
Everytime he talks he sounds like a little bit(h. - moondawg
Kesler and he would get along fine |

I'm not being sarcastic. You would consider moving Gardiner for Schneider straight up? |
|
|
|
Luongo is much better fit in Philly anyways. Luongo will be a lot happier their as they are an actual contender and Holmgren has no problem pulling the trigger on a big trade.
I think Leaf fans will get their wish and not have to worry about aquiring an all star goalie. Good luck on the playoff run. - fiveandagame

I would think about it, but it wouldnt be an easy decision. Two good young players with possibly bright futures. The only issue for me would be the extra 3 million in salary that will impact the roster. Depends what that impact is. |

COMPLETELY different situations.

This isnt about a playoff run. This is about patience, building and sustainable success. Good luck on your playoff run. Maybe you can stop trying to pawn off said all star goalie and keep him instead of the non all star goalie with 60 games of experience.
Just a thought. - systemtool
I hope your grandchildren will enjoy when that time arrives. |

So. the Leafs don't want to give up a good young player and Vancouver wants a good young player for Luongo.
"Mike Gillis, Hawks on line one, Flyers on line two, Panthers on line three, Oilers on line four and Blue Jackets on line five. Should I get Nonis back on the phone to increase the offer?"
"No that's fine. I'll just move Lu somewhere else."
In Toronto- Nonis has been fired and the Ikea Monkey is now the Leafs GM. - IanEsplen

Gardnier's concussion problems worry me. I would rather trade for Rielly. |

Well, if that is the case, then I see Luongo going to Florida or somewhere else. Leafs will continue to finish 10th - 12th, almost in the Playoffs, but not. - moondawg
Don't tease them they have no way in hell finishing 10-12 |

I have been a member of this site for almost 6 years. I visit daily (usually multiple times), and I read many of the blogs.
That said, I rarely post anything, but the fact that you think that you have the right to call Ian an absolute, unadulterated, unequivocal moron because "YOU" an absolute, unadulterated, unequivocal moron disagrees, makes me want to call you out.
Gillis has said many times what his asking price is for Luongo, your beloved Burke got fired because he wouldn't deal with the asking price, and so it starts all over with the new GM.
Burke was a loud mouth, and a BS'er, and you are very naive if you think that he would have picked Rielly 1st overall. - Makita

You are getting worse than Cloutier...
There are young players on the Leafs other than Rielly and Gardiner.
Gillis won't trade Lu to Hawks...
Reports are that the Flyers interest in BS...especially with them have Bryz...
Panthers have said all along they aren't giving up anything significant...
Oilers and Jackets, lol...please...
"Ok, get Nonis back on the phone, tell him we will take Connolly, Percy and a 3rd" - BoBBeR56
No he's not |

According to me...just because a GM is demanding certain things for a player, after a long while (and the GM realizes who foolish his demands are) his price lowers to something more reasonable.
Gillis has no legs to stand on demanding multiple young players...for a 34yr old goalie with 10yr $5.3mil contract with diminishing skills, who is currently a backup goalie and wants out, with next to no suitors for him...but you guys are right, Gillis holds all the cards, |
