Kassian was a player I wanted the Leafs to draft but he seems to have regressed in his development, if the guy can just get it together. |

Seriously, even with Crosby, Malkin, and a recent Stanley Cup, they still feel like they have to buy their fans back.
Canadian teams have none of those, and would probably try to raise ticket/concession prices. - p_zub
Somebody has to prop up this league!
The funny thing is that it will be the Canadian franchises footing the bill for some fat asses down in the States choking down 8 dogs, 5 pieces of pizza, 7 pretzels, 6 ice cream bars and a wash down at the game after they paid $5 for their front row tickets and free parking.
Revenue sharing is awesome. |

What do you think Bryzzy's stats look like if he is a Canuck?
Lu is a solid goalie, but his stats have been padded having had the luxury of playing with some great teams in front of him over the past few years. - As_I_See_It
Did you watch many Phili games last year, and see Bryz. The guy was lost out there.
No offence, but Luongo was much more solid than Bryz in almost all aspects of his game.

Bryz is the same as Mike Smith....As a team I wouldn't touch any goalie whose only successes came with defense-first systems. That is, unless, you employ the exact same system. |

If Luongo was a great goalie, then he would've won a cup with a good team like Vancouver in front of him. - Jadass12
Vancouver played like poop in the final series against Boston. I don't blame Luongo . It was a team effort, and the Canucks didn't show up.
They scores like 5 goals in seven games or something. |

No offence taken, but the difference between Lu vs. Bryzzy is certainly not Couturier and his entry level contract for the next couple years, on top of the fact that Bryzzy is also a couple years younger with a better structured contract as well.

Luongo and Schneider were the only reason the Canucks even had a sniff at the Presidents trophy last year as well.

Your not taking into account Holmgren's uncanny abilty to pull off a big move almost every single off season. |

No Offence, but Vancouver was lucky to take that series to 7.
ALL of the Bruins' wins were blowouts (or near blowouts), while Van scraped out three one goal victories, one of which was in OT. |

I don't believe Couturier is coming to Van.
Bryz was great in Phx, with a good def system. But man, he sure did unravel in Phili. The guys interviews seemed like he was losing it mentally.
And I have him in my keeper pool |

The hatred toward most of the two fan bases is amazing, more than Leafs/Habs. lol. - LeafMan
I know right...its weird...
Leafs barely ever play the Canucks, yet its almost like Leaf fans hatred for the Canuck fans is passing their hatred for Sens/Habs fans. |

Gillis if you are reading this I will drop my year ban if you give out free beer. I will be first in line to buy ticket. Won't see the game but I won't care either. - VANTEL
ha ha...well played.
Has anyone heard anything whether the NHL is going to giving Centre Ice free for the season?

Your not taking into account Holmgren's uncanny abilty to pull off a big move almost every single off season. - fiveandagame
No, I'm well aware of "Holmgren's uncanny ability to pull off a big move almost every single off season," but I think it's you who is not taking into account that Philly already has $57.5M committed to 16 players next season with cap dropping to $64.3M. With the cap dropping to $64.3M, Philly has $6.8M to sign 7 players next season, AND THEN have to sign Giroux, B. Schenn and Couturier +10 other players with ~$20M to following year.
That said, Luongo to Philly doesn't make a whole of sense. Philly might have to move one of these guys, but judging by Van's cap situation and the players still needing to be signed (i.e. Edler, maybe Higgins and Lappy), I doubt any of Philly's players listed above are moved to the Canucks.
I could be wrong, but the numbers just don't add up at this time.

Can't see them getting Gardiner or Reilly.
Gardiner still is out with a concussion since early December and I don't think has been cleared for any contact as of yet.
I can see something like:
Luongo, Kassian, 3rd for Bozak, Kulemin and Franson.

Just because he has some ridiculous asking price doesn't mean he will get it. See Rick Nash deal. - BoBBeR56
Oh I completely get that, my issue was the way Tom insulted Ian because he suggested a #1 pick would be part of a deal with the canucks.
Personally I think Gillis is asking for too much and the eventual trade will be something of a lesser extent. More around what Beiksa3 is suggesting. |

Not at this time, but if you take into account salary swaping hands as well a 2 buyouts per team, and whatever other loopholes will be exposed in this CBA it might work. I'm not a numbers guy, but Gilman in Vancouver was amazing at getting a team on the ice that apeared to be over the cap the last couple of years. |

Why's that? lol
A regressing prospect, an aging goalie and a 3rd for 2 guys that would play in your top6 and a top6 defenceman? |

You forgot to mention how bad Luongo's contract was. Sorry, this oversite caused the deal to fall apart. |
