Yzerman, 4th overall. Doughty, 2nd overall. The Leafs saved the Bruins and tanked for them. The Ducks had Niedermayer and Pronger, two guys who went 2nd and 3rd overall. - Two_For_Truth
Umm did the Ducks draft either of those?
no. |

Then can I point to the one or two good games JVR had in a playoff series a couple of years ago to prove that he is an elite superstar? |

UG doesn't want the Leafs to get a goalie because it will make them a better team.
UG complains the Leafs suck.

Irrefutable proof. - Two_For_Truth
Insofar as it is a true statement of fact that the LA Kings a) did finish 8th, and b) did bring in some veteran players while trading away youth, and c) did win the Stanley Cup, I'd say that, yes, this does constitute a type of proof. |

Okay, so you have less than 30 million to fill 16 more roster spots, keeping in mind that when the cap inflates, so do player salaries. Third liners cost you 2-3 million these days.
Good luck. - Leeman4Gilmour
Its not has bad as people think.
Ebs and Hall are signed for 6 more years.
They'll be ok. |

Wow, what a revelation.
You really should be a reporter on 60 minutes.
A guy said he loves his job???
He said that to the media???
I guess he really would have drafted Rielly 1st if he had the pick. - Atomic Wedgie
I'm sure he's just going to stand pat and watch his team plummets and get his ass gets fired.
Sounds exactly like something Burke would do. |

What is the point here?
That Curtis Joseph wasn't a phenomenal goaltender?

And do you think being GM of the Leafs is the only position that will be available to him now and in the long term? - Pen15
I'm sure if the team tanks again, MLSE will be so pleased with him that they will promote him long term.
It makes perfect sense. |

I thought you would come around to my way of thinking.
I'll tell Burkie you are on board for Luongo.
How many first round draft picks do you think is fair?

I find that's just a little too fruity (and I mean that in terms of taste, not manliness) for me.

Don't have to draft Niedermayer when his brother is on the team and the only reason why he signs with them.
Sort of something that doesn't happen very often.
But talk to the Devils about how drafting Niedermayer worked out for them.
Better yet, ask the Leafs how Tom Kurvers is doing. |

He will likely end up in the Hall of Fame one day. If he doesn't, he may be considered the best goalie on the outside looking in.
The guy was a top 5-10 goalie in his generation. If that doesn't constitute "phenomenal", then I'm afraid we have different definitions and you're a pretty tough guy to please. |

Isn't that what you want though?
Aren't you the one on here advocating that Burke tanks the leafs this year in order to get a high draft pick?
If so, I'm sure you'll also be on here protesting his firing if he actually listens to your brilliant plan. |

Both of whom were acquired by trading away highly drafted, home-grown talent and draft picks. |
