The hottest goalie in the league is available and a goalie with one of the NHL's most promising futures.
Gillis is sure looking smart for holding on.

Uh, no. No one wanted Luongo. He had zero trade value. Leaf fans were right. |

and in such a large sample size. make this claim at years end or even next year if the numbers remain the same. - sanfordnson
Year end stats:
James Reimer 33 76 2.46 995 .924
Ben Scrivens 20 46 2.69 542 .915
Stats stayed virtually the same.
Now, subtract Scrivens with Bernier:
Jonathan Bernier 14 24 1.88 306 .922 |

I remember when Leafs fans were stupid for not wanting to trade Riemer straight-up for Bernier... and now they're stupid for comparing stats between the two.
All it took was the Leafs acquiring Bernier.
Would have loved to see Yancy's view on Luongo if Toronto had acquired him. |

For years, all I've heard is the 29 other fanbases and the media go on and on about what a future franchise goalie Bernier will be. Now he sucks because of where he was traded to Our players are so underrated. |

my names not yancey, and you wonder why you're not respected...once bernier plays for the leafs, its fair to post his stats, its not as if berniers stats that were posted were on the leafs...i would say the same as luongo...but bernier is far less proven...i think he has the potential to blow reimer out of the water...i dont think reimers that good...i think carlyle has made the team play as a team better...same for bobrovskys numbers in columbus, i beliee their play, inflated his numbers...to some extent lundqvist is in that category also...torts had bodies thrown in front of him...of course thats going to help those stats...same with columbus...but we'll see...i dont value your opinion at all glucky sucky...so dont bother... and yes YOU started it again by calling me yancey...dont go cry now... - annoyance_101
You're trying to make the argument Bernier's stats were only good because he was on a better team. Yet now, you're saying Reimer isn't that good. Yet Reimer posted the 7th best save % in the entire NHL on a worse team. So why are Reimer's stats that good then?
I'm confused by your argument.
And Lundqvists's numbers in no way are inflated. He's put-up elite stats for 8 straight years with different coaches, and a lot of teams that weren't that good. |

NOW? excuse me? but I've never thought Reimer was that good...I've already explained why his stats were good? readings not your strong suit is it? Carlyle has made the leafs improve as a team...and not play as individuals...I feel that Bernier will have better numbers and Reimer will eventually be traded. Sooner rather than later. Also just because I said a goaltenders numbers have been inflated because they're playing on a defensive first team (Rangers) does not mean I do not think that Lundqvist is some bad goaltender or something...quit twisting my (frank)ing words...and quit nitpicking |
