Should have started with Bennington from the beginning instead of throwing him to the wolves in the broncze medal game. - Fakepartofme

I'm going to throw this out there.........
Dougie Hamilton is at best a 3 or 4 defensemen. For the past couple of years i've heard all the hype. i watched him very carefully during this tournament. He will struggle in the NHL. Big time.
Revisiting the Kessel trade. It basically works out to Kessel for Seguin and a bottom pairing defensemen.
As of right now, unless Hamilton proves me wrong. Leafs won that trade. - faceto27
Give your head a shake. Hamilton on the big ice is not the same guy leading OHL Dmen in scoring. He is an elite player who will do very well at the NHL level.

He is an elite OHL defenseman. Hasn't carried that dominance anywhere else.
Easy to dominate over teenagers. different against men. |

Duh! Not only is he also a teenager, he was the youngest kid taken in his draft. He qualified for his draft by just a few days. The kid will be a dominate player for many NHL years. |

Opening Lineup:
Kessel JVR Lupul
Kadri Grabo Mac
Frattin Bozak Kulemin
Brown Steckel/Mcclement Aucoin
Gunner Phaneuf
Gardiner Kostka
Liles Franson
Reimer
Scrivens
*Id roll with kostka since hes doing very well in the marlies, especially with gardiner on some shifts and line ups. Even Aucoin id give a chance for the first game since hes doing well, for the 4th line of the leafs. - Mapleleafs_91

Yes, I think the Leafs screwed up in the development of Schenn. But, I think the trade is ok as it gives both players a fresh start,
You need to realize that Hamilton is only a couple of months older than Ryan Murray, the top Dman from the 2012 draft.

Scrivens, Frattin and Gardiner look like locks but Kadri has to beat somebody out to earn a spot. A trade or two could change everything.
I wonder how they work camp especially if guys like Gardiner, Holzer, Ranger and Kostka all get looks. i bet they keep the numbers really tight ...Ranger and kostka may have to wait until September. |

the big ice changes everything
Scott Stevens, great hard hitting NHL d-man with a long and very good career, not once did he have a negative plus/minus
but he sucked some serious balls in Nagano |

i dont think so.. i hope he comes around but i do have my doubts.
schenn is great when forwards try to play him physical.. he's a powerful kid.. but not a great skater.
which wouldnt be a problem but he has a tendency to setup a little bit too high in his own zone. once opposition forwards figured this out they simply chipped the puck past him and out-skated him to the puck.. leaving him floundering and out of position most times.

If they get Lou I can't envision a way where the Leafs aren't including one of the 2. - burn
Unless there is a 2 player per team buyout, Lou is definitely going to be gone thus making him a free agent and I doubt he signs in Toronto, it would be back to Florida for sure. |

If the players/union disband, then there is no CBA and the matter will probably be in the court system. Either way, no union, no CBA. Besides, how can there be a new CBA. Collective Bargaining Agreement. There has been no agreement.
No matter how this plays out, the top players will come out on top and the 4th liners will get the short end of the stick. Justifiably so. They get paid for their talents. Those who have the most talent will make the most money, and the average guys will fair pretty decent too. The rest? They'll take anything they can get. - Gunslinger
I have heard if the NHL cancelled the season that the union is going to try to abolish the salary cap. They will decertify and it will take years in courts. Sedins and Crosby have said they will play in SEL . I think this would be the last straw for players like the Sedins Edler Hedman and others and they will stay there. The NHL may be signing their death warrant in the next week or two. |

But.. but.. we have Carlyle!!!! The only reason why we were a lottery team was because of Wilson.
