They save face with this proposal....they made the owners cave on the take it or leave it proposal.
- Symba007

Every single NHL proposal has been take it or leave it. In many ways they are just as much to blame for all of this as Fehr

I wonder how long it lasts? The entire length of the CBA do you get that one golden bullet? If so, do the Habs really want to use it on Gomez? Do you need that salary cap space RIGHT now?

go to capgeek and check out the free agents this summer and you'll quickly find out just how worth it is

Its almost sad how people only blame Fehr and the NHLPA for this mess when both sides are just as guilty of douchebaggery.

Its like there was this massive bong hit around the hockey universe and people conveniently forgot this is Bettmans third lockout, and we've already lost a full season long before Fehr joined the gang bang.

Of course they should. Start fresh and get rid of the elephant in the room. Especially with them having Pleks, DesH and now Galchenyuk.

How about a Luongo?
- LeftCoaster

I heard Vancouver was getting the moon, the stars, and two first round draft picks from Toronto for him

Both sides have caused the scenario we are in currently.
Both sides have to fix it..

You'd be surprised... There is a lot of Pro NHL round these here parts. And sadly, if you say anything negative about the NHL you're labelled pro PA.

Both sides folks...both sides.

When did the leafs get anything on their roster that one could consider the moon and stars? Bozak, Ashton and Percy/Franson/Finn or Bozak and Gunnersson will be the deal. Same as I said in June. Makes sense for both teams.

People blame Fehr because the PA has yet to make a valid proposal and we are well over 100 days into the lockout.. Everything is being done by the owners to try and save the season. Fehr is a bigtime douche

Yeah, The PA hasn't done much. They tabled the dumbest proposals early on and have yet to table anything reasonable. Probably a tactic, but still frustrating as a fan.

Once again, the point is that BOTH sides be blamed. I know why people blame Fehr and the PA, but the lack of holding the NHL accountable is the issue here. We would probably be in the same position with someone else running the PA as witnessed and evidenced by past lock outs...and wait for it...full season lost.

Highly doubt that.

If we're taking on that Luongo contract, Van will be taking back dollars as well. Komi will probably be apart of the package...and you will not get any of Percy/Franson/Finn.

No need to buy out Pronger, as long as he is on LTI list, his salary does not count towards salary cap. Similar situation to Savard situation in Boston.

I dont think you come here often enough then. Its not scott-free but they arent being held accountable, like Fehr is. It is not an even balance as it should be.

Are you really that blind? Every NHL proposal has been a take it or leave it. The pa can't build off it. Maybe if the league had an offer in Sept/Oct that even resembled the one they have now we would be half way through the season. Yet the offer way the very best they could do and would ony get worse.

I have yet to see one poster completely remove all blame from the NHL for getting into this mess...

The separate question however, is who has dragged this out longer than it needs to be? And that, is soley on Fehr and the PA.
