From Pierre LaBrun, ESPN

An NHL team source provided highlights from the latest offer the NHL gave to the union on Thursday:

I think they're mostly worried about Escrow with the 60M reduced Cap. They would view it as almost a rollback.
At some point the NHLPA is going to have to accept at least some part of an Offer, on the contract issues. How many times can you expect to counter every issue? They have about 10 days. It took 14 days to get this new offer.

- MJL

They will counter by the weekend but Fehr is not done trying to get more....he still has 10 days.

Dumbest post of the day so far. You beat MJL! You should be proud.
- Aetherial

Your positions here have been tragically flawed by your general need to have a season no matter what.

And.... I am not going to do the work for you, but numerous owners, gms said they were holding out until January when the PA would miss pay, they would avoid emtpy areas due to other sports.

I am totally happy to discuss things with you but stop being so demeaning.

Yes, your constant ranting that the PA has somehow become Nazis and under their Fehr-er (see... that, like that one... go ahead and use it.) is way too offside. I see how both sides have screwed the pooch. Wish you would just think about it for a second.

Got it off twitter,
For some reason it wouldn't let me copy n paste the link

At any rate, seems like we are getting closer to a deal
The only thing missing IMO is the owners agreeing to a new revenue sharing system
I read an article where the NHL only shares about 5% of revenues,
And other pro sports leagues share around 50%

Most likely. But we've seen how the NHL has responded to some of the NHLPA counter proposals. There isn't much time left for that now. But Fehr will likely push that to get even more. And why not? It's worked how many times now?

Look at the TV deals of other leagues...that's the BIG difference with the NHL. Most TV deals are regional coverage per team except of the NBC deal which brings up to 200M per year.

The Revenue sharing aspect of the deal was agreed upon a while ago. Transition rules and next year Upper Limit are the likely stumbling blocks.

I'm with you there. Sit at the table and get this done. If the NHLPA is going to make a counter proposal. It needs to be one that encourages talks to continue. Although that has been a difficult task. The NHL needs to not walk away, and to stay at the table.

So far ahead he sacrifices seasons.

Depends on your definition of it. If losing seasons is the goal, hes a legend.

I've only read a few pages of the comments, but why are you repeatedly spamming these threads with the same points ad infinitum?

We get it: 'systemtool' believes Bettman is largely responsible for the lockouts because he's been involved in three of them. Trust me, we're all aware that you think this... and each time you repeat yourself, we care a little less.

You're one person, with one opinion, and are of no more (arguably less) importance than any other poster on this site.

We get it.

You can stop now.

And all the posters that blame Fehr can stop now also? Because we get it?
