Because at least 10 lost loads of money that is why, 3 or 4 teams moving does nothing to the other 5 to 10 that will never make money under the current system.

And what other markets that TO and QC do you know of that want a team.

Hamilton would have to pay the Sabres a load of money going into their territory and hurt the Sabres.

- BigStew

Thats up to the league to properly research and figure out. 3-4 teams moving would be huge...not "nothing".

You also need to remember that the same leader is in place.

This is like saying a president shouldnt have to shoulder the blame from his first term, because he is on his second term.

Are we talking about Obama or the lockout?

A lockout is not only a trend with Bettman. It is also a trend with the Legal firm the NHL is using. Proskauer Rose.

Ummmm.... So ? Evil masterminds that bribe people to halt a 3 billion dollar business. I don't get it ?

Don't worry, neither does the NHL or the Owners.

A team in Hamilton won't hurt Buffalo. Sabres have a 5-7 year season tickets waiting list. Sabres fans won't stop being Sabres fans. Yes a percentage of ticket holders are Canadian, but many of them are reselling a bulk of those tickets back to Buffalo fans at a profit and they will continue to. Canadians still like coming here to shop and what not and they are always down for a hockey game. Plus, you add another team, you'll just have more proud fans that will want to come here to show off their team pride.

They can research all they want, there is no where to go or we'd already be there.

Why would moving be huge? If they expand in Canada it does nothing to move the game to the next level in the US other than lose money in the NBC TV deal.

Then tell me what the owners have given up, that is actual value, from their last offer.

I see no more money from their last offer, it they are giving more up, enlighten me.

Yes there is, dont be ignorant and belligerent. It smells of weak sauce on a vegetarian pizza.

There are enough teams to sell the TV on. Phoenix and Columbus (for example) are not those teams. NBC cares about Detroit, Chicago, LA, NY, Philly etc

If what the owners gave up isn't of actual value, why do the players care?

Donal Fehr will ruin this once again. The NHLPA will continue to lose whatever support they may have had.

@Real_ESPNLeBrun: In short, NHLPA/players will still want to change some things in this offer. But I still view it as important step towards a possible deal

Now wait .......maybe it's just minor tweeking

There is no time at this point for steps towards a deal. Ridiculous at this point. A 48 game season is a joke really. I'll still be watching of course if it happens

Except the 48 game season in 94/95 was probably the best NHL hockey I have seen since every game meant something.
