Looks like Jensen is going to get some NHL help on AIK. They've aquired/signed Kristian Huselius. There has been talk around here about the Canucks grabbing him actually. - boonerbuck

I believe people were talking about his ability to move the puck. I don't want anything to do with him thats for sure. It would make me sicker of the fact we traded a young playmaker away just to fill the hole in with that kind of poop. The only player to fill in at this point is Schroeder who looks a year or never away.

He's good on the PK. Just what any team trading for Luongo needs.

I still don't mind him on the third line, but since our team lacks size/toughness we can't afford to have someone like him on our third line. He's very good on the PK and his a good two-way player at even strength as well but he needs his confidence back and a fresh to start to have a shot at 20 goals again. |

Even when he is a 20 goal player he's still fragile, weak and plays like a chicken. I agree and really don't know why people think he may possibly change all that. Better players have come and gone for cheaper during this patient process. I want to cut ties immediately and move on. Gillis needs to take back this roster from AV. |

How about Gillis trade Kesler, Edler and Raymond to Washington for Backstrom and Green?
Luongo and Malhotra to Toronto for Bozak, Reimer and Franson.
Waive Ballard or trade him for a pick.
See, that's so much more fun than talking about this (frank)in lockout, isn't it? |

2009 NHL Entry Draft - Center 6'1" 205lb Marcus Johansson taken two spots behind Jordan Schroeder, boy could we use him right about now if the season is saved! Another swing and a miss by Gillis. |

I'd be happy with him if the price was right.
He's not ideal, but nobody can deny that he has playmaking ability, and I don't really see a hell of a lot of other options.
Give him a bargain one year deal to prove he still has something in the tank. |

Coming from you of all people!
I'm a sucker of advanced stats, and no not just corsi.
There's much better stats out there now that take into account quality of linemates, quality of competition and zone starts. Raymond has shown that he's capable of being a solid contributor, but I agree that he's not the right fit for this team. Put him on a team with more size and toughness and all of a sudden you can live with his weaknesses. |

I agree, the d-core is solid(assuming Edler is back) and goaltending hasn't been a problem, but our forward group still needs a lot of work.
Sedin - Sedin - Burrows
Booth - Kesler - Skilled Playmaker
Higgins - 2 Way Physical Center - Hansen
4th Line Physical Veteran That Can Play - Lappy - Pinizzotto
Malhotra
Hamhuis - Bieksa
Edler/ New D-Man - Garrison
Ballard (waive/trade if possible) - Tanev
Alberts
Schneider
Lack/Veteran Backup |

You can probably get Green, but I doubt Backstrom is available. Doubt Toronto takes Manny on top of Lu with rumors that Burke actually wants to dump cap space back. Agreed on Ballard, just too much money for a 3rd pairing d-man and he's not going to turn it around under Bowness/AV. |

Can't really blame MG for that one, a lot of Canucks fans were pumped when we picked him including myself since he was expected to go higher. I guess we all know why he was slipping now. Johansson would have been great, but apparently Rodin would have been our first round pick if Schroeder wasn't available. |

Huselius might be a fit skill-wise, but he's exactly what we don't need. He has a reputation for starting off hot during the start of the season and then struggling during the second half/playoffs. Not to mention that he's 34 years old. |

Mike Gillis is ultimately responsible for keeping him employed, the blame falls squarely on his shoulders as the final decision is his to make. |
