Dosent taking a lesser share help the struggling teams stay afloat and keep them from folding, therefore keeping more jobs for the players. Why wouldnt the players want to do that? - Cheeseballin
Taking a lesser share doesn't solve any of the problems. Salaries rolled back 24% in last CBA with no real improvement. Salary floor was set to go up 9% this year with increases (before stupidity of this lockout) coming every year. How is a 7% rollback going to solve anything?
This is simply a fight between two groups each wanting more money and power. Neither side fighting for"good of the game". |

Plenty care what the players think. And is who winds up looking bad when this is all said and done really matter? How is the League going to look if it turns out that none of what they fought for in the CBA changes anything in the future? - MJL
Thanks for the info. |

I agree the Owners shouldn't be fighting for any of it. The Owners should take care of their businesses, and take responsibility for their failures and look within for real solutions. Instead of repeatedly asking others to pay for their repeated failures, and instead enact real change and real solutions. Players are willing to do their share. What are the owners prepared to do? - MJL

I'm starting to get the feeling you don't really understand how a business works.

How are the players willing to do their share? By taking a lesser percentage share of revenue going forward.
First of all, the top money making teams have to do far more to help the struggling teams. The wealth of the League has to be more evenly distributed. The revenue sharing they are willing to do is not enough.
Teams such as Columbus, who have failed to develop their franchise and their team into a competitive team for the better part of a decade, have to make changes to their business model. Hopefully hiring John Davidson will get that pointed in the right direction.
And if some of these Owners have to dip into their personal wealth or the equity of the team, to stabilize the financial issues, then so be it.
The League needs to look into issues such as re-location. - MJL
These comments are wrong on so many levels ......wow.
How much more of the profits do the rich teams have to give......great concept if its not your money.
The argument that owners should dip into the personal wealth to finance a system that is clearly broke ....again real easy for you and the players to say it.....it ain't your money.
As far as re-location.......there are only so many teams that can re-locate to southern Ontario or Quebec City......
It is in the players best interest to have 30 viable teams that can survive and be successful ....As far as Re-location, that can sometimes amount to a knee jerk reaction....I mean with a bad Canadian dollar a decade ago.....you could have moved everyone but Toronto at one time or another....I don't disagree that some markets may never be good...but they need a system in place where by they have a shot.
Where I do agree with the players is once the have agreed to a %....I am not fully sure the NHL needs to restrict contracts and terms....let teams run there own business how they see fit

Could not agree more with the removal of Quick from that list.
The guy has 1 good season, 1 and he is one of the top free agents in the league?
Ask Jim Carey about his one good season.
Lets wait and see if he can do it again . One season does NOT a career make! - BuffaloHardHat

The players are willing to do so for the better of the League. Although I don't feel that either the NHL or the NHLP feel that any teams are in danger of folding. - MJL
i wonder why the NHLPA doesn't have a salary-sharing system, they sure do love the idea of revenue sharing |

Guys, I'm extremely sorry that I offended people by not picking Quick...the hands-down best goalie in the league. I'm sorry I had an opinion and that from this day forward I will not ever voice such a comment as my opinion again. The Kings are now my favourite team, because they are the best in the league this year. - weirdoh

Ban handguns. Ban assault rifles. Ban extended magazines. Up age limit to own a gun. Background check on entire immediate family and household members of prospective gun owners. Free universal mental healthcare. - Cheeseballin

Well Ek is optimistic - soooo surprised. So many great sources have made him really right so far. I'm signing up for a season ticket right now.
Open up the Stanley Cup to be awarded to outside leagues this year and a deal gets done like that. Enough is enough. |

Quit attacking the poster and talk about the post not the poster. Can you do that ?
Quick does not belong on that list. Not even close! |

See. Now where you are wrong is saying that quick has had one good season. By my count he has had three. He's also younger then miller and hank and won the cup. More or less by himself. I've said before we were lucky to get two goals a night. Miller can't carry a team like that. - Deadmau55
