Citizens can have certain types of guns. But they have to prove that they're capable and responsible enough to have one. But there are certain kinds of guns they can't have. I think the whole Militia argument is weak.

This is correct, but, when you are also the world leader in weapons supply, and sell them to other nations as well as domestically, and it's a material portion of your economy, "make them less available" is easier said than done.

I agree that those assault weapons have to go. In this case I would like to know why his mother had those guns in the first place? Just seems odd to me. Just one for protection if that was the reason would have been enough.
