I was responding to one post by Buffalo--Sabres guy. Go back and read it. I wasn't stating anything other than it was a terrible analogy. I told myself I was done commenting on this topic today, but when I see people still making comments like that one, I have a hard time not responding with a little sound logic. If you agree with what he posted, well then I guess nothing more needs to be said.

Let me ask a simple question. If the shooter at that school had a knife instead of an assault weapon. Do you think the Adults would have had a chance to overwhelm the punk and stop him from killing 27 people? Not saying there wouldn't have been any injuries or fatalities. But do you think the results would have been the same? What chance did they have against an Assault Rifle with high volume magazines?

Nothing at all, as a gun owner, it is not the guns that kill. It is people...if they want to kill, they will find a way to do so. It is a terrible thing, but it is not the fault of the guns. Someone had to pull the trigger. The issue is not for the law bidding citizen anyway. Most murders are done with guns that were not purchased legally in the first place. How can you ever stop this?

Cars kill far more people every year than guns... should we regulate cars too? How about the rampant knife attacks in China? They didn't need guns..


It's NOT a gun issue, it's a personal, mental issue. If someone snaps, they snap, regardless of what they use to kill.

The use of cars IS regulated.

-Try going 100 mph on the turnpike or drive drunk and see how far you get.
-You have to have a license to drive.
-You have to pass a government mandated proficiency test to drive.

This whole "cars kill too, should we ban them as well?" argument is the weakest sh!t going on the net today. Cars have a practical use NECESSARY FOR SOCIETY TO FUNCTION, GUNS DO NOT! Without cars and transportation the global economy crashes. Without guns, the world is a safer and better place.

People have "mental issues" and "snap" all over the world and don't have ANYWHERE NEAR the gun violence that the US does, now why is that? Could it be that guns are too engrained into American culture and collective mentality, and that guns are too readily available/accessible?

This is exactly why I advocated taking the men with the brass keys out of the silos, and turning it over to a computer system like the War Operation Plan Response (WOPR) computer. You eliminate the possibilty of humans getting it wrong.
