... are people still bring up examples of other ways that people die, and using it as an argument against the need for massive reform of gun legislation?
... has anyone bothered to address that all these responsible people owning these guns cannot possibly guarantee that they will not be stolen and used by people who want to kill lots of other people?
... are people here still ignoring the statistics from other countries, or maybe trying to explain them way with anecdotal evidence?

I guess someone beat me to it. Losing D'Arnaud makes me really nervous, especially considering they have to throw in Syndergaard too. It's hard to imagine the Jays not seriously contending for the next few seasons though. - Jeffmt

Not only is that true, but tons of people in the wake of the trajedy, thier first thought was "Obama crazy if he think he takin away my guns". Its so messed up. Its like finding out a baby was killed by a drunk driver (which happened here a few weeks ago) and your first thought is "well I better bot get arrested for drunk driving! That girl was terrible at drunk driving but I am good at it. I deserve that right".
That article has no relation to the situation at hand. The effort was merely to try to control when and where, you are able to discharge the guns. This was no stray shot from a target range. This is just an attempt to stir up more outrage from a marginally related article.
In the wake of tragedy every reactionary idiot with an axe to grind comes out of the woodwork. Without 9/11 there would be no Patriot Act because a sane and sober nation wouldn't have stood for all the personal freedoms taken away in that one document but in the wake of tragedy, people don't think clearly and make emotionally driven decisions.
Same thing that's going to happen when congress opens again. Strike while the iron is hot and try to ram something through before people can calm down.

Show me a god that does not demand mortal suffering. Show me a god that celebrates diversity, a celebration that embraces even non-believers, and is not threatened by them. Show me a god that understands the meaning of peace. In life, not in death. Show me these things and I'll start believing...

I didnt care before, except to hope it was cancelled. But yeah, it is very tough to picture kids that young being killed... and then tyr to have any concern for millionaires fighting billionaires over money.
