Thoughts on the Jays' impending Richardey trade, Scoob? - As_I_See_It
Skeptical but excited. A lot to give up, but they could win back to back World Series again. |

The political barriers are certainly there. Another one of the screwed problems in our Country. Regardless of the roadblocks, it needs to be done. That's why we need tough leaders to do tough jobs. Let's see if Obama backs up what he said tonight. - MJL
Agreed, especially in light of these recent atrocities. |

Ek, we're getting dangerously close to a point where a 48 game season isn't even possible anymore. It's probably time to consider taking the needle out of the red.
Seeing as how nothing else is going on right now, any thoughts on the Jays getting R.A. Richardey? |

Breathalyers don't messure or detect weed in your system haha.. but sure. - Arctic_AARDVARK
They don't need to. Once you smoke pot, you won't be breathing in any guns anyhow. |

I guess someone beat me to it. Losing D'Arnaud makes me really nervous, especially considering they have to throw in Syndergaard too. It's hard to imagine the Jays not seriously contending for the next few seasons though. |

I was a baby when it happened. But from what I know yes. - Deadmau55
You would be correct. There is a common misconception that "terrorists" aren't "terrorists" if they are domestic. The motive there was political.
As Symba mentioned, the reason why they aren't calling Sandy Hook "a terrorist act" is because it doesn't appear to be political, religious or ideological motivation. If Lanza's intention was to instill fear into society, then yes, that would be considered "terrorism," but it is sounding more and more like Lanza suffered from a personality disorder, years of alienation and possibly emotional trauma in his family life. |

Dude, lay off the bud just enough to understand that I AM ON YOUR SIDE! I am joking that if we make marijuana use a prerequisite for gun ownership, then there won't be any of these shootings. People would have already disassembled them and turned them into pipes.
Also, this is completely a joke. It is not nearly as funny anymore than it was 5 minutes ago. Spelling something out often has that affect on a good joke. |

Arencibia has been very defensive on twitter, getting upset about the trade rumours etc... He loves the team, he needs to prove his worth next year though. |

I like Arencibia too which is why I don't hate this deal. Actually, I guess in a way I was sort of hoping to see this happen just so JP wouldn't get traded. He's an awesome team guy and he's getting better at his position. d'Arnaud makes me nervous though. But if they win a World Series, who cares. |

Does Canada have gun issues? Absolutely, but in comparison to the US and their gun problems, I would say that Canada "has it figured out." People don't walk around with guns. We just don't carry guns on our way to the grocery store. We don't carry them in our vehicles. Hell, I would even go so far as to say that the majority of Canadians have never seen a gun in real life, held one, let alone even fired one! That's how little guns are a part of the Canadian way of life. Guns are not readily accessible in Canada like they are in the US. So yeah, from my perspective, Canada has a better idea of the gun's place in society than Americans do. We just don't need it! It's because of all of the above that Canada doesn't have the same problem that the US does.
I agree, change is tough, especially when it's so engrained into culture. Passing legislation is difficult and it costs money, but IT NEEDS TO START NOW and there are a number of first steps that could be taken within the next few years. There is no reason why fully automatic weapons can't be banned and stop being sold to the average Joe; Tougher licensing requirements and restrictions; Stricter penalties and the regulation of ammunition can start to be implemented. How about a gun return amnesty? How about receiving a tax credit for a turned in firearm? - As_I_See_It I wasn't casting aspersions on Canada's gun laws nor was I comparing gun crimes between countries.
I'm assuming you mean semi-automatic fire arms, because fully automatic firearms are are highly and tightly regulated. They are considered a class III firearm and class III firearms are extremely difficult to deal or own.
I've said a couple of times now that even as an avid hunter I do believe that assault weapons and extended magazines for deer and all high power rifles need to go, as well as many semi automatic hand guns.
And I do believe in light of this weeks and recent events that law makers will be forced to tighten regulation and change current gun laws at the federal and more importantly the state levels. |

He made a comment a few weeks ago which was something like "I really wish I could say what I know". I wonder if AA told him that he was going to shop d'Arnaud for more pitching help. He seemed certain he was sticking around when pretty much everyone in the media was saying he was trade bait. |

Fehr is a lousy Sheppard.. He's going to starve his sheep.. It's all capitalism's fault. The only thing that matters to anyone anymore is MONEY. Why do people want more money? Because they are GREEDY. |
