I would never ask you to oust your sources, but seriously? Like other posters have said before, your sources can't be all that great seeing as you've been saying the same damn thing for a few months now. I wish they would just go to a media blackout at this point and get all the stuff handled.
edit: died laughing when I saw the filter for sh*t "he called the sh*t poop!" |

So the latest Dleed Tweet asks if all contracts were removed and everyone was a UFA ..who would you sign?
My Top 5 would be :
1. Malkin
2. Weber
3. Stamkos
4. Jquick
5. Giroux

I think you're a dreamer. I don't see this season happening. I could be wrong, I don't have any inside information or 'sources', just a hunch is telling me that both sides not wanting to lose will keep them from playing. Pride is at stake.
Screw them all. |

I like NHL hockey and I like watching NHL hockey on tv on nights when I don't have a life...which is all the time. Go NHL hockey Go! I hope the players of NHL hockey get more money and I hope the owners of NHL hockey teams make more money. NHL hockey deserves money. GO NHL HOCKEY GO! |

Can't argue with that list. Quick might be the one I'd switch and I'd put Price there. (frank), could you imagine how amazing that would be for a week or 2? Just a massive fantasy draft. Yet Toronto and Montreal still wouldn't be able to bring anybody in. |

Guess number 40? Or was it 50? Pathetic.
Owners should start the process of bankrupting the league and each of the teams. This effectively gives the PA no counterparty to negotiate with.
Re-emerge out of bankruptcy, and structure similar the the NFL; non guaranteed contracts, equal revenue sharing, etc...

The part I really dont get...Fehr has convinced the whole PA to lose hundreds of millions over as you say " issues that may only affect a very small percentage" What a bunch of dummies! The players can tell there kids in the future " hey kids, look at the lockout of 2012. We fought hard and lost millions in income, but a few of the players were still able to sign 8 yr deals instead of 5. Umm....what was the point again...hmm...i cant remember."
(frank)ing idiots. - Iggysbff
And Bettman has said that the owners are losing twice that. |

I believe it was over the Thursday that Fehr said that was agreement on economic issues and that they were close on term and transition issues. Bettman subsequently took the stage and hammered Fehr for misleading both players and fans.
Since that point in time, every statement from the PA stresses how close they are to a settlement. It is over. Settle! - spatso
If Bettman says that Fehr misled the players, well then it must be true! |

I hate the kings with a passion but know for a fact that quick is the best goalie in the league. You have to be joking. |

You forgot one factor in your "Gentlemen, pick one..." scenario!
#3 - Risk loosing your fan base without whom you have NOTHING!
This last post just pisses me off to no end! F*#@ me while you two (NHL & NHLPA) jerk around with extra millions and billions with no regard for me, the fan who has paid many thousands of dollars a year for each of my season seats for the last 20 years!
Enough already! Stop playing games (and lets not kid ourselves - at this point they are only posturing and playing games), get the deal done and lets move on before I and a lot of other loyal fans decide to NEVER pay for a hockey ticket ever again!

Is it really possible to make a more stupid comment.
The players already lost more in salary than the owners would make in profit, aggregate, for a complete year... by like 3X

Just quoting Gareee
Edit - and so it makes it better that the net profit situation will be sharply in the red this year? |

5 year contracts are just the NHL version on non gauranteed contracts.
Teams need the ablilty to let go players that don't live up to there end of the contract. |

definitely!
A 5 year contract limit is definitely equivalent to a non-guaranteed contract.
Wait WTF?
Geeze, I pull up Hockeybuzz to see what more stupid sh*t is being spewed by the PA supporters... only to discover that they all must be hungover or tired, or dropped 30 o so IQ points in the past couple days.

Pointing out the obvious flaw in your original statement.
In fact, a significant number of teams will lose less money this year, even though that was not the discussion. |

Sure!
Is the PA ready to accept 1 year contract term limits?
Didn't think so.
Thanks for your usual lack of thought though.

Nobody cares what the player's think anymore!!!
Unfortunately it is the players that will be the only one looking bad when this is all said and done!!! |
