Desi,

My bro in law makes short films and asked me if I could simulate a gun shot for one of his projects. After some research I did the following:

1. Connected four 9volt batteries in series
2. Filled a condom with fake blood and taped it to the victims chest.
3. Taped one end of stripped #14 AWG to the condom with a liberal amount of steel wool jumpered between the conductors.
4. Wrapped one of the conductors on the other end around the negative terminal of the 9volt bank
5. Touched the positive terminal to the other conductor and it heated up the wool to the point where it popped the condom


It wasn't as dramatic as I hoped but it worked. I wish I had more batteries with me. I think 6 or 8 and I'll get a nice pop.

Nice. Maybe a latern battery would work better. Also for a "spurting" effect, maybe a small low rated fuse into the blood condom with leads running through it. Could pose danger to the actor, but what the hell...amirite!!!

fallout was born from a game called wasteland, which is pretty good but very dated now.

fallout 3 is DC, and bethesda is an amazing studio
