I dont think putting the worlds best hockeyplayer in harms way is an effective gameplan for the long run.
- vancity787

"World's best hockey player" is debatable but I see your point. But he's "in harm's way" every time he steps on the ice. He sounds like he wants to kill penalties but I'm sure he trusts Bylsma to make the right calls. Like some people have said, the Pens PK has done well without him on it. One bad series against the Flyers shouldn't make Bylsma fix something that isn't broken.

Interesting Sid picked Army as the player who most understood his game. Likes a righty as it makes it easier for him. Also liked the set up and give and go in 2 on 1. Makes it sound simple but chemistry cannot be undersestimated.

I am happy Tangradi is doing well and as I said in the last post those whom I know in the therapy business in that area, my old hometown, say he is in the best shape of his life. Went totally aerobic max with interval training ground based. is VO2 is off the charts compared to past years. this translates to more gas in the tank per shift. Personally I couldn't be happier for him.

I really hope his hard work pays off for him. It's nice to see athletes who put the time in succeed. Hopefully it's with the Penguins.

I hope it's with the Pens as well. Trying to make arrangements to see a WB Pens game sometime soon. Work has been intense so really nice to have a 4 day holiday. Happy Turkey day!

At this point Tangradi is not likely to fetch significant return in a trade, so giving him a shot at a top 6 role would seem to be the sensible thing to do.

I don't even know if he's the best player on his own team.

First or second best in the world. Not much of a gap between Crosby and Malkin.

To say that is to assume that Crosby was the best player in the world before his injuries and he will pick up where he left off. Time will tell.

As a Russian-hating-Canadian it pains me to say this, but I would take Malkin or Datsyuk over Crosby right now.

You are intitled to your opinion. But I'm just glad as a Pens fan, my only concern is which one of Crosby or Malkin will play on the first line.

Those two on the same line could do Lemieux-Jagr damage.

Your only concern should be keeping them healthy.

It wouldn't be the same without the mullets......

You could say the same thing about anyone else in the league.

TOO TRUE

I mean, you're right, but no other team has 17.4 M$ cap space tied up in two players, one with a past of knee problems and the other with the world's most publicized concussion

As a result of the knee injury, Malkin had to train harder and now he is the dominant player that he is. So, blessing in diguise?

As for Crosby, his concussion are a thing of the past. They fixed his neck. So, not worried about that anymore.

Besides, I would guess that most GM's in the league would take Crosby and Malkin on their teams in a heartbeat with 17.4 in caps space.

I havent been watching any of the baby pens games, but is there anyone that seems like they can transition well with to the nhl. i see bennett is leading the baby pens and zatkoff has a solid save % and GAA.

and tangradi is not good. He has shown time and time again that he can not keep up in the NHL. if we trade him it will be for a bag of pucks. Might as well keep him for the baby pens team

Umm too late for that. Hope Roos neck heals up for the 2013-14 or 2014-15 season whenever hockey may actually be relevant again.

Actually I wonder if either one of us will care about these guys in 1 to 2 years of no hockey. good work NHL and NHLPA arghhhh.
