Uh no.

57-7 = 50, check.

Unfortunately what is indisputable is...

1) The players no longer HAVE 57%. you can't even begin to argue it.
2) The owners are offering to give 50%, you can't even begin to argue that.

It is exactly as I said. The players are negotiating to get whatever they can. Hey, more power to them. They are entitled to fight for whatever they want.

... but don't tell me about what they are "giving" when they have nothing.

If 57 - 7 is 50, then the difference between 57 and 50 is 7, like I said. So what's the "Uh no" part about that? You said exactly what I said but indicated I was wrong.

If the NHL and NHLPA made a deal tonight for 50-50 then that would mean the players wet from 57 to 50 and the owners from 43 to 50.

Because it is a negotiation and one side went down and the other went up, which side would have to be considered to be "giving"? The side which lost 7% or the one which gained 7%? Someone who receives something isn't considered to be giving anything.

Then do not tell others what they need to write when they do the same.

i.e. do not be a hypocrite

You can choose to ignore the past in making any kind of read on the situation. That is your choice. But you are on a island there. Read any article that covers the lockout, and the situation with the last CBA is a big part of most. It's involved in pretty much everything. Including being involved in the offers and proposals both sides are making, and have made. And that is all the sensible argument I need.

And it's really quite simple. If the players are agreeing to go from 57% of revenue in the previous Season, to 50% in the next agreement. That is in fact giving a concession to the Owners. No matter how you try, you can't spin your way out of that.

Everyone said that the last contract was a Slamdunk Win for the owners, the players gave up the world in that one. Yet they made out like bandits.

Can't spin your way out of that one.

But in reality, That was Then; This is Now.

the previous contract and who won and who lost is unimportant.

Don't need to spin my way out of it. Because your reply here is going off on a completely different direction then anything that was said to the post you replied to. MY statement in the post you replied to had zero to do with who was deemed the winner or the loser in the aftermath of the CBA. But simply that the expired CBA is a reference point for the negotiations that are currently ongoing.

You are entitled to your opinion. But if your going to infer that someone is a hypocrite, then I would think you'd be able to show why. Or you can just blindly throw that out there with nothing to back it up. Simply because you don't like the poster, or what he has to say.

You are utterly oblivious to reason. Do you honestly believe the agents are not leveraging the teams into these offers? If you don't believe that then there is no point in having a discussion because it won't have any basis of reality. The agents jobs are to squeeze as much money as they can by playing GM's against one another and most of them do it very very well.

I know full we'll what free agency is and I do not believe the owners aren't at least somewhat culpable in it all. But to suggest they can all just say "no" and lay 100% of the blame of the salaries on them is mind boggling. There is plenty of people culpable and by suggesting that a simple no would solve the entire problem is silly.

I've seen that you are incredibly pro player on here and I don't profess to be able to convince you otherwise, but I know one thing, you are not convincing anyone that your POV is educated or rational even. Food for thought so to speak.
