Bailey? DeHaan? Nino? Strome? All of these picks were at the least questionable. So far none of them have "panned out" of course there is time but to say these were picks that were'nt questionable would be kind of stupid. Crap shoot or not. - Cptmjl
Strome will be a productive NHL player. Cant imagine why anyone thinks otherwise. Nino's size is deceiving - he's still barely a kid out of high school. He will not be a bust but may not crack the top line... Bailey, i think is suffering a little from an inferiority complex. I think he needs to be a full time winger and get up on the 2nd line (or ride with MM & JT) and get PP time and he will finally flourish. Maybe when Strome is ready...Bails will finally blossom. |

Ia m optimistic that they will come to an agreement this week. Iam calling it now. If I get this right I should get the majority of the vote not only over Dee but also Eklund - kasperrko
what is this voting thing you seem to be shoving down everyones throat? |

deHaan should have been traded in a package to get another player....like Bobby Ryan. When he was healthy....
At this point he's damaged goods and useless as anything other than a career AHLer.
Another high draft pick bust. Way to go Garth!!!!! - jmo16

Get with the times man! With the NHL being in a lock out and in the fun of the election I am running up against Dee for Islander Blogger. I will say that UIF has some great articles and should get in the running as well.

Most say he was a reach where he was selected. He was a high risk high reward pick. My point was all of the picks mentioned were reaches most were shots in the dark as reported at the time. I wasn't unhappy with the Strome selection but to say he is a definite NHL'er is way to premature. My problem with Snow at the draft table is he seems to ALWAYS not take the safe pick(minu Tavares thank christ who we all feared wasn't going to be picked and with good reason)and think outside the norm. With a rebuilding team with not many blue chip prospects after five years of having the option to pick in the top five you NEED to take the safe pick. Outside of Tavares and Hamonic(who Snow gets lauded for as being a genius for on this board, guess what? Hamonic was not some big secret that Snow figured out. He was a second round pick)there is not much to show for him picking in the top five for 5 years. Yeah I know some of these kids have time but you can say we should have seen a lot more for consistently losing for 6 years and honestly it's a better argument. I think alot of people on here say Snow is a good drafter just because there is no other option left for the guy. Can you say he is a good GM for making trades? How about how adept he is at signing FA's? What do you have left? Drafting and so far I'm not overly impressed. |

Absolutley agree. I would think and hope he is going to be a productive NHL player. The knock on him is the same knocks that DeHaan had an quite a few other of Snow's selections. Weak and needs to put on some meat. |

I think you could probably say a legitimate 70% of the people on this board. No need to mention names. You'll say doesn't make it true but I know you know I'm right. That's what matters. |

No. Not true. Just figured I'd throw it out there and point out the obvious since you are ridiculously critical of people and their opinions. |

I am thinking you should change the location since we will be paying for Visnovsky since he is now a member of the Islanders. Just a thought though |
