We most likely wont be getting mackinnon because the draft rigs it against us but a top 5 pick is still always good for me - Mapleleafs_91

Doesn't matter who it is.
Burkie will say he was #1 on their list anyway. |

The Oilers still have a looooooong way to go before they are at the top of the league.
That being said, they could use Luongo. - Pecafan Fan
Yeah, about that, not that long.
They could use Luongo because they're at that stage of the process. The Leafs aren't even close. |

Piss off good players? Screw 'em. Trade them. Rebuild. Rebuild hard.
Hall, Hopkins and Yakupov. Complaints? None.
MacKinnon, Ekblad and McDavid. Complaints? None. - Two_For_Truth

Given the number of good defensemen available in the 1st round of the previous draft, I was surprised they didn't trade down a little for a kings ransom and draft a potential #1 D. |

14 points in 10 games as a d-man, not too shabby.
The only guy in the top-10 with more impressive numbers is Yakupov(given that he's playing in an actual pro-league). Do you really see Burke taking a Russian 1st overall?
Obviously there's more to hockey than the offensive numbers. But when the d-man you took is outproducing most of the forwards in the draft... that's a pretty good sign. |

because he said the same thing about Biggs, Percy, and Kadri.
The guy he really should have taken is Faksa. He's so good, that the defenseman we took in the 2nd round is producing more than him |

9 games in to the season and it's determined. The Leafs are stacked.
It's almost unfair how stacked they are. They should make special provisions in the CBA to help the rest of the league catch up. |

They average 12,000+ for Badger games and 6,000+ for Admirals games.
But yeah, hockey definitely belongs in the desert and in the sunshine state. |

Bjustad would be a great addition to a team below .500 .If you look at Fla , Bjustad would be the number 3 or 4 center on that team too .Fla should have took the deal.
Sedin and Kesler should be around for another 5 years and we have Gaunce in the wings waiting. We also have Lapierre and a step down also would be Schroeder. We can also draft another center or trade for an NHL ready center. - VANTEL
Florida doesnt want a ten year contract and to also give up bluechip prospects when they already have markstrom and theodore.
This isnt even debateable. They flat out said no |

9 games(10, in Rielly's case)... too soon to be happy that he's succeeding, but not too soon to mock the pick. Good for you uggie, good for you.
The fact is, he's one of the top-performing players from the draft, and his performance this year(and in his abbreviated season last year) have been good enough that there is no ground to mock Burke's statements. The only guy who is obviously better than Rielly in the draft is Yakupov. Do you see Burke taking a Russian 1st overall? |

Nah, Dumba is better.
But wait, Burke's statement is that he would have taken him at 1st overall. If Rielly isn't better than Yakupov, there is indeed ground to mock Burke's statement. |

Probably why he was taken 6 spots ahead of Faksa, by a team with no need for additional d-men.
Burke values character... the fact that Yakupov ditched his junior team to go back to Russia doesn't do any favours to how his character is perceived, either. Rielly looks to be the best offensive d-man in the draft, that alone gives validity to Burke's statement. Being the best at any position will get you looks at the top. |

Don't bother. UG doesn't watch junior hockey. He just goes by the consensus and mock drafts. |

Faksa is probably the future Peca. Tlusty and Earl would have been stars if Peca had mentored them. Faksa is the greatest. |

Yes, Rielly wins again. 10 games, that's all it takes. |
