It's certainly an interesting situation what with AEG being in the situation that it is. It does strike me as a little odd that an NHL owner would want to pay NHL players through his group (either directly or indirectly) during this lockout. But then, it also strikes me as odd that players would want to go anywhere near any team that has even a mild scent of NHL ownership. Just a really weird situation, in my opinion.....

meh - they're going to make somebody money. If AEG is losing money with an NHL lockout, might as well sell a few extra tickets with another team by signing available talent.

Hell of a lot less of a conflict than players playing for AHL affiliate teams. That is literally playing for the team directly owned and run by your team which has locked you out - but due to technicallity of being waiver exempt and on a 2-way contract, you have to ride the bus.

3 billion reasons at stake. That's a lot of reasons, and a lot of stakes. It would be stupid yes, but stupidity is not a new concept for the NHL, it's damn close to being their motto.

That's my point - $3 billion revenues lost if there's no season to gain a few percentage points. I'm sure there's an accountant somewhere in MLSE that could point out there's no logic there.

yup - even if they get their 10% revenue swing, they'll have to get it in a 10 year deal to even break even on losing a full season.

I really wish people would stop using "meh" in a post.
You wouldn't use it talking to your friends, I'd hope.
When you sound it out, its (frank)ing stupid.
End rant, I just want hockey too, frustrated and picking on HB posters makes me feel better.

Yeah I don't get it... It is illegal to ship food, at least in the United States, without it being frozen. Why do they make such a stupid claim?

So that's why strawberries from the States taste like nothing!
I thought you guys picked em early and let them ripen on the ride over.....

...What about eggs? wouldn't they break if u freeze em?
