This season. The plan was rushed through and not well thought out at all. No teams get byes. The division winners NOT having the best record play each other, and the best record plays whomever wins the play-in game Friday.
But the team with home field "advantage" has to travel to the other city for the first two games of a 5 game series, so as to limit travel to one occurrence.
