The a**holes who go play in europe can go F* themselves. I don't give a rat a** about following them in some foreign league.
They had a full year to negotiate with the NHL and didn't bother and now want to extend the current CBA while negotiating a new deal. The players must think the fans are f* stupid.
I hope some swiss league team hires a goon and he lays a serious beating on Joe thornton.

LOL, not in the slightest, but seriously, why go down a rathole, debating a topic like this, with someone you don't even know?
This is especially true since neither of us can be proven right or wrong at the moment. Even going forward, we will probably never know who did what for what reason.
So, it is futile

Playing Europe won't affect the outcome. If Gary can keep the profitable owners onside to throw away a season, they win again - Canada Cup
playing in europe shows the players are not a unified group as well as affecting public perception.....the owners have them by the balls.

Please explain why playing in Europe shows they are not unified. If the owners are prepared to toss away the season, they win. Whether some players go to Europe is irrelevant |

If you want to hate someone, hate the Canucks -- it's way more satisfying. - Canada Cup
Wake up fool... Survey says the Loafs are the most hated team in Canada...
A new Angus Reid Public Opinion poll conducted in partnership with Maclean’s has found that Toronto—not Vancouver—is the country’s most hated hockey team. It turns out Vancouver, which has worn the “hated” label since last spring’s failed Stanley Cup run, is actually one of the country’s most popular teams. Montreal, meanwhile, is the country’s favourite club. |

Oh -- I hope not. He seemed a little upset about the whole thing to begin with. I seriously don't understand why so many people are convinced that the fight for money between owners and players is a fight against good and evil no matter whose side you support. |

We will see a whole lot of Brian Burke. What better reason to save the season is there? |

Any player taking jobs from players in other leagues is talking out of both sides of their mouth. If they truly 'just want to play hockey' then sign on bettmans dotted line, rake in your millions and shut the hell up.
If they are going to go to war with Bettman, then stick together, stay and battle.
You cannot have it both ways and retain any amount of solidarity or respect.
Why is it the owners who are 'tossing away the season'? The players won't agree to a new CBA proposal, does that not mean they are the ones 'tossing the season?' |

How many time can you take it from behind before you stand up for yourself...and not every player makes millions....this fight is for them moreso than the higher echelon in the league |

Yes but it's the 3rd and 4th liners who hurt the most from the loss of a paycheque.
The top players will not be hurting if they miss a cheque or 2. |

I am NOT saying it is anybody's fault, but if you were the 3rd and 4th liner sitting at home not getting paid and you see the top players getting paid still AND probably making the biggest noise about not giving back money then it might be a little upsetting.
