This from a guy who lives in Canada yet posts about the isles daily. Why dont you ante up.......then we'll see how positive you are. Very easy to be positive when you aren't spending 15 grand a year on tickets for a team that consistently promises improvement, yet doesn't improve. Newflash guy; Jesse Joensuu isn't improving the roster.
- kindlyrick

The thing you don't get is that they are improving... they have great depth with their prospect pool.

Building from within... works for me!!!

You don't think i understand the depth pool is at all time highs? Please.....dont waste my time with that bushleague response.

The thing YOU DONT GET, is that every year my ticket broker calls me to re new my season tickets. EVERY YEAR he says the isles plan on improving the roster and bringing in talent. I dont consider Jesse Joensuu talent. Nor is Brad Boyes and his cap friendly contract improving the team. When you have one of the best prospect pools in the league.......guess what, ITS TIME TO MAKE A TRADE. Not all of those prospects are making the team. As general manager its Garth Snows job to manage his assets. He's failed at that........that is my issue. He's a hoarder.......you cannot win on drafting alone.

Hey EK, In anser to your question, f--k the NHL and NHLers, sure I would like news about them, BUT I would rather you cover the other leagues in general, but don't give these bastids "special" attention, unless their play merits it, not because they are NHLers. They don't think that is anything too special.

I don't care that they went over because they got locked out. I do care when comments are made that are threats they won't come back if they take a pay cut. Playing pro hockey is a privilege not a right and there are many that wish to be on their shoes.

Many could wish to be in their shoes, but many cant dangle like top tier NHL'ers. There's a reason why some are paid the way they are paid.......Johnny Hammersticks may want to snipe like Pat Kane but can he?

"Do YOU Care About NHL Players in Europe During Lockout?"

I am almost at the point where I don't care about the NHL anymore. If this lockout goes beyond the end of October I am done as an NHL fan.

No i don't care..

However, the CHL, and WJC will be a big deal in my circle of friends..

Lockouts are depressing, I'm not even excited about playing hockey this year myself

My original point wasnt even about the risk of injury. I dont think its fair that a guy in the CHL who's making 800 a week, and now doesnt have a job because a millionaire NHLer decides he wants to grace everyone with his presence in the Central league for 15 games.

Solidarity NLHPA Propaganda looks like pure BS now, that's for sure... plus it is nice to know they are willing to play for less money AND take someone's job.

Players under contract are being paid a salary by the NHLPA, so they should not work!

yeah i care, i care that they are saying F U to the regular players that cant get contracts over there, i care about the spots they are taking away from euro players, i care that they say "we are united" yet they jump ship the sec they have a chance, they shouldnt be allowed to go over there as it is still somewhat their fault that there is a lockout

if the players/PA showed that they were being realistic and actually trying to negotiate rather than dilly dallying and doing jack poop before the lockout, and havent had a formal meeting yet since it became official, then maybe i would feel different, but they have shown that they dont care about the fans, or the game

all they care about is the $$$

its not just the players fault, its the owners too, but the owners have shown that they are more willing to get things done as their proposals (actual not the 1st which was to get things going and just flipped the % of revenue) showed that they want to get back to hockey more than the players

Lighten up Frances; it's a labour market. The best players are able to play in the best available leagues. The owners just locked out 700 jobs at the top of the food chain and 700 players are going to be not playing hockey somewhere.

I don't really get how this weakens player solidarity.

I don't care about the NHL. Period.

Players should stay overseas if they can. Totally agree with OV.

Seeing how I live in Finland at the moment, yes I'm certainly interested.

Most NHL players who come here during the lockout are simply returning to their old/hometown teams, so I don't see that as a great injustice either.

The most interesting player in the SM-Liiga right now isn't even a NHL player, but Alexander Barkov Jr who's been really dominating and the kid turned 17 just this month. Future first overall pick? I'd bet my money on it.

- atc

Barkov jr is good but not gonna be first overall next summer top 5 yes but first pick is Mackinnon.

So they are willing to play for the love of the game overseas, put someone out of work (and I get the whole getting cut, but these players didn't have a chance to find another job when they got told at the last minute that the spot they earned was now going to a locked out NHLer but stay close to your phone cuz we'll need you when they leave), but they refuse to try and help the NHL for the love of the game?
If they can get by on half their salary overseas why not here?
