IDK? Letsgoisles copied a post of mine which we are trying to figure out why? Should be starting something up soon. Stand by

ME: "cant be a shock to anyone that most players #1 destination is not LI...."

You: "I don't think it's their # 29th destination either."

You: "If the guy doesn't want to come here then say goodbye. Move on. Snow needs to be a GM and find someone else to play on his blue line. Simple as that"

so we acknowledge no player wants to come to LI (and, according to you, its the last option). BUT when it comes to visnovsky if he doesnt want to be here than say goodbye; garth should find someone else to play the blue line.

so you want players to come to the island happily but no players want to come to the island.

youre chasing your own tail.

No the Yashin jersey is hanging in the game room... and leading the league in hits really isn't that big a deal... sorry.

Again I say coming from someone with a Yashin jersey....

Ask yourself this. Do the islanders have another Matt Martin on their team? How about in bport? The answer is no they do not. Cizikas cannot fight like MM and Boulton isn't as good of a player.

On a team that gets its nuts kicked in every night it is a very big deal. Why is Martin all of a sudden not a big deal anymore? Strange?
- Cptmjl

I never said MM wasn't a big deal.... I like him & I want him on the team... but he leading the league in hits doesn't make his signing any more important, or does it entitle him to a huge payday. He is a third line player at best on a 3rd rate NHL team. He will be signed in due time.

i happen to love MM...but the facts are boulton is significantly more physical than martin and that isnt a knock on MM...and carkner is also a tough guy.

so to answer your question, this coming season, the islanders do have another mm

I have 3 Yashin Jerseys... since you are looking for facts.

No they don't have another.. but that doesn't mean he gets a huge payday... that doesn't mean he needed to be signed before the season ended & that doesn't mean that him not being signed yet is a big problem.... he'll be singed in time.

Marty Mcsorely was a "goon" but ask Gretzky what he meant to his line. The new NHL needs four lines consistently. Just cause a guy is a sandpaper player doesn't mean he's a bottom six forward.

I don't expect any players to come to this circus happily. Would you? I sure as hell wouldn't but I wouldn't file a grievance. Theres a difference. It's sad that I have to explain that to you. Why would anyone want a player on their TEAM that is fighting not to be on their TEAM? No one is chasing their tail. Did you just spend the last few hours trying to figure that one out? Hopefully you can understand this? It gets tiring having to explain every part of a post to you. I do feel bad thats why I oblige most of the time but its becoming draining. I'm sure you have heard this before?

Absolutely agree with you though he should make substantially more money than a Boulton lets say. He brings more to the table.

Boulton can barely skate. If you think him or even Carkner can fill Martins skates you need to watch some more hockey.

Carkner is not a forward, and Boulton is strictly a pugilist. He had zero points last year on the devils. Martin can play the game and be physical. So again I say there is no Matt Martin on the isles or even in the system.

Well Boulton is making barely over the league veteran minimum. I wouldn't say Martin is worth any more than $1m. So $800/$900k per is substantially more than Boulton, would you say that's a fair price for MM?

I think 3 or 4 years 1.5 is very fair for the league leader in hits on the softest team in the league.

I think that as isles fans we're so used bargain basement connys. The fact is like any business if you want your employees to do a good job you need to reward them. This guy on any other team gets 1.5 million for multiple years.

1.25 to 1.5 is fair. Give or take. Boulton is Gillies part duex. He has zero value.

I certainly wouldn't cry about that one, but I'm still not convinced he's worth that much. If it's what it takes to keep him around, then fine by me.
