I hope that your right. I really don't want him here. He'll be a major distraction and will become an immediate whipping boy. This teams is still a year away, as a playoff contender. The teams around them got better, while the Leafs stayed status quo. Don't waste the cap space and the years, on a goaltender sliding downward. If he's not good enough for Vancouver, he's not good enough for the Leafs. - PrinceLH
Prince I love you man.................BUT..............We need elite goal tending which Luongo DOES provide, we need it at a reasonable price as to NOT mortgage our future to get it (luongo) 33 isn't sliding down, he has 4-5 good years left not 1 or 2 he is really only 33not 36 here.
We are not getting a #1 goaltender without giving up Gardiner +1st and alot more.....This is the chance to get an elite at a fraction of the cost,
If we are 3-4 years away from a playoff push then fine...luongo don't help us But if we are 1-2 years away than good luck getting an elite goalie for a fraction of the price....
I AM (frank)ING SICK OF THIS poop SHIP OUT KULEMIN ,PERCY ASHTON AND A SECOND AND GET A (frank)ING DEAL DONE.

Even thats an overpayment... - Mapleleafs_91
I wouldn't call it an over payment, I'd call it a compromise that allows Lu and Kuli a fresh start and Holzer and the 2nd are to sure up the sides. There might be some extra pieces flying around but the basic idea is fair |

33 years old
10 years, $48 Million left on his deal, with a no trade clause
Still excellent, but on the beginning of the down slope of his career.
If Florida is stupid enough to trade significant prospects like Bjugstad to get Luongo when they have Markstrom, Clemmensen and Theodore, then Gillis should by all means do it, but I believe that a deal to Florida is a pipedream and the only deal that makes sense is to a Chicago, Columbus or Toronto.
No way the Leafs give up any young assets of any major value for Luongo....no way at all. - mikeinbuffalo
Theodore, Clemmenson=(frank) all bro, Markstrom= who the hell knows, Florida will grab Luongo if the price is right, lets not kid each other. |

1) would be macarthur/bozak before kul 2) we need D, if franson goes were in trouble, try prospects like ashton/colborne 3) 2nd rounder is already set haha |

Your waivering opinion means means very little to me, especially when I have downed close to 3/4 of a 26erin under 2 hrs to forget my failures at work.
In the future dont use a (frank)ing laughing face, use facts and brains to talk to me or I will ignore you.

Not mad, we have time with a strike looming and all, If Burke wanted this done already it would be done not including Gardiner and never ever our 1st...... Burke is knee deepin the cba poop weekly, he has no plans on doing (frank) all untill cba is done so it's moot really.

Thats true, i want luongo actually, but at the right price. We dont have to give anything significant up but a fair deal is in order of course. I wouldnt mind a deal like 2nd rounder, ashton, 4th rounder, bozak/franson(if he wants out). Like i said nucks
Can throw in raymond. Just along the lines. And coming next year when players see luongo, they will want to play here. We have set goaltending. They need cap space for doan |

Just nice to see. Everyone rags on Luongo's contract, age and NTC and ignores the fact that he really is a legit top flight goalie. Ive generally stayed out of the TO threads when the Lu discussion starts because as soon as you point out his pedigree people grow livid. |

If they know Doan is 100% happening he goes to Florida IMO for peanuts, Van needs to trade Luongo before the 15th, They can get some youth from the Leafs, Burke is alright for replacing middle talent youth, I have a hardtime seeing this trade not being done already.

I wouldn't mind taking significant salary back with Luongo if we can give up one contract like Lombardi.
Luongo, Booth
For
2nd, Lombardi, 3rd (Different years), Franson and a good prospect. |

If making the leafs better for the next 5 years costs us reilley to get Luongo + I am not opposed to Reilley being used as bait in a multi player deal.
