I know u like gagner.. u said u wanthim for a year... But tell me why?
He has played with good talent in edm and never gone over 50 pts.. he doesnt have a lick of defensive stats.. 47 hits in the last 2 years combined... He has shown extreme inconsistency.. 17 pts in 4 games and then 7 pts in his last 23...
Is he good on the draw? Does he have value as a pp or pk?
I agree that i think we should trade ennis while the iron is hot and that gagner is a proven 4 yr plus 40 pt scorer which is a mid level 2C.
What do u have against stewart? - JVince11
Cris Stewart has been traded 2 times now for almost the same thing...LAZY. If he can't make it under Ken Hitchcock he will never make it under Lindy, I want no part of his lazy a$$.

I just think Gagner is very talented and would fit well here and he's still only 22 and has good experience, as far as Stewart goes I just think he's another Stafford with a bit more grit.

I personally like the moves made around compete level on this team so far this year. I wonder if Stewart would undo some of that good momentum.
Gagner is a capable 2 center, something we MAYBE have at the moment. Gives us 3 chances to get 2 center spots locked up effectively. Hodgson and Ennis are both still question marks for those roles right now.

I agree with Stewart being too much of a risk and honestly I'm just not that impressed with him as a player, like 89 said he has a lot of lazy tendencies and disappears a lot.

2 times?
Wasnt it just from Colorado to STL in the Eric Johnson trade?

I think if we get a guy, he has to be a bonified stud and whatever position. Were a team with a lot of talent right now but most of them are a goodf #2 or #3 something. Adding another guy to this mix that isn't a genuine #1 line guy will only add to the confusion.

I had him as a rw instead of stafford. - JVince11
The Sabres need a guy like Bobby Ryan who will guarantee you 30 goals a year instead of guys like Stafford who will score 31 in 60 games (Stafford)and then dissapear the following season, or Stewart who scores 28 2 years in a row, then has his own dissapearing act and drops to 16. The Sabres have a boatload of 2nd line players. Not too many consistent top notch players

this team NEEDS Bobby Ryan - Sabres2012CUP
If Bobby Ryan was going to be traded, it would have happened by now. The more I hear about him, and the rumors surrounding the return Anaheim wants, the more I think the reports about the unrest between him in the Ducks are greatly overstated. He will still be a Duck when the season starts, whenever that is.

What solid indications have there been other than everybody and their ex-girlfriend creating some fake twitter account with the handle "hockey insider", misspelled in every way known to man, indicating they have sources?

I feel like there are just too many pieces to the puzzle for something like that to go down. How often do we see trades like that even happen anymore?

That's definitely a part of it, but I'm looking at it more from the Ducks' point of view. If he was causing that big of a stink, they'd be in a hurry to move him because he'd turn into a cancer. My guess is that the strain in the relationship between him and the Ducks is not as bad as everyone thinks. Remember back in the mid to late 1990's, Matthew Barnaby seemed to want out of Buffalo every year before 1999 when he finally got moved for Stu Barnes. It took a long time before he was actually moved. Granted, Barnaby isn't nearly as skilled as Bobby Ryan, but I think the example still stands.

just back from a round of golf dan. Man, some of these posts are just terrible and mean. I'm an old guy so I'm allowed to be grumpy but some of y'all need to take a chill pill. Some need to show a little more respect. - mhp

That's just it. He's never come out and said he wants to be moved, he simply said that if they want to move him, then they should do it. He was just upset about how every single time a rumor involving the Ducks comes up, he's the piece going the other way. I'm sure it's frustrating to be in his shoes. He has also said that he wants to help the team that drafted him be successful. That doesn't sound like a guy who's asking to be traded to me.
