Pound for pound Beachemin is probably one of the toughest guys in the league.

Pretty good fighter, he's got these short compact punches he throws.

actually i have. i watch as many edmonton games as i can. with hall, nuge, eberle and now yak you guys will have one of the most dynamic offenses in the whole league within 2-3 years. first game i watched this past year of edmonton was the game nuge scored the hat trick. true hockey fans such as myself watch more hockey than just your own team. prob explains all the edmonton fans offering gagner and mps for myers. mps has not even shown anything to prove he'll even play on the 3rd line on an nhl team.

his rookie year he showed he's at least a 3rd liner... he just had a set back last year. Maybe he was rushed. but i don't wanna give up on him just yet. And that trade is crazy, for Meyers one of Hall/nuge/Eberle/Yakupov would have to go back the other way wich I can't see happening. Last year i bought NHL CI best investment all year Watched Lucic pummel the Goose This year im looking forward for Scott giving it to Lucic

Also like watching Kaleta his facial reactions are so funny

So then you should know that Gagner is actually a pretty tough guy for a skill player and that over his career he's been one of the most consistant players in the league.

I mean 34 points on a last place team as a rookie is nothing to sneeze at, but you watch a lot of hockey....so (frank) me I guess.

What if the target was not just a dman. What if Enroth was a key point in this deal as Eklund suggested? For whatever reason. Maybe he doesn't want to play behind miller, maybe Edmonton realized they have the worst starter in the league. Maybe a million reasons we are privy to. But if we are going to talk about a rumor, lets talk about the full thing.

So Enroth is the only name we have and a Dman. The Edmontom side is obvious, they have two "top 6 centers" that are young and that is RNH and Gagner. I think RNH might be the most untouchable player on the team right now after his rookie year. You could argue Eberle but I think we all know that RNH is not going anywhere. It is obviously Gagner and Buffalo's desire is obvious. He is young and they need a center this year in a bad way. Plus next year he will be able to help Grigorenko and Girgensons transition into the NHL as Ganger started at a young age himself. That gives Buffalo their 1, 2 and 4 centers locked up next year.

Edmonton's motivation is also obvious on this. They need a dman. Myers is not an option obviously but I think the rest are not untouchable. Erhoff with his salary could be the target with gagner and a good prospect. Buffallo only has 6 million left and maybe they are looking at Doan or Langkow. Regher could also be an option if Enroth was involved. Gagner and some with Omarkish talent for Regher who Edmonton would be forced to take due to his performance and salary to get Enroth.

However I agree if Edmonton has any negotiation ability Sekera would be the target. At 26 he would be a good addition. So if we go with Eklunds prediction, what does it take.

Sekera and Enroth to Edmonton

Gagner and it would have to be Magnus unless they see the potential in hartkenen that we do. With their mutaul needs, this close to the season, could this happen. Frankly Buffalo has an extra dman and Sekera play 5-6 minutes is a waste of time. Same with Magnus or Hartkinen being in the minors. With the amount of games Miller plays, I can back him up. They could get by with Huet, Turco, Johnson, Ellis, Nittimaki or maybe take khabby for the year.

Maybe Kane is their target and Miller is part of a deal that will eventually land Luongo in Buffalo.

Buffalo, Edmonton, Chicago and Vancouver are not happy with their rosters. One thing for certain, Buffalo is the only team that I would trust to pull off a series of block buster trades that ends them up with a more consistent goalie, a center and a prospect, right before the season starts by targeting the least content teams.

yes the good old bandwagon fans loved the signing. but the logical and hockey informed sabres fans knew it was a terrible signing. guy can't skate, turns the puck over all the time, says he can play center then tells the coach he wants to go back to wing. the guys a joke. you dont sign a guy for that length of time, at that contract cap hit, for 1 good season for a guy that played on a line with Daniel "Playoff Money" Briere. Briere makes anyone he plays with look good. examples- Hecht had .70 pts per game playing on a line with daniel briere when briere was in buffalo. after briere left, since the 07-08 season hecht has averaged .49 points per game. villie leino: .32 points per game for his entire career not including 1 season. the season before his contract that he had his breakout year playing with briere. take away his 13 game stint with detroit in 08-09, he drops to .28 points per game. while playing with briere he had 53 points in 81 games. thats .65 points per game. leino is as crap as crap comes. and apparently regier thought this specific piece of crap was worth 4.5 million for 6 years. never thought i'd say this, but i woulda rather he kept tiny fragile time connolly
- jbrylinsabres

Lolz.... nice try.... You creamed your pants just like every other Sabres fan when Ville Leino signed.

And Oilers' management are members of Mensa?

Wait, I know. They planned on being the league suckholes for the last decade so they could draft top prospects, and perhaps become relevant again in another 10 years.

What a plan!!!

Yeah, I really wish our team could've continued to overpay mediocre free agents to come to Edmonton just so that we could be a bubble team like the Sabers and the Flames (frank)ing troll.

What's that?

Finish in the bottom 3 for the last decade? At least you're content with that.

This would be a horrible deal!! I mean, has no one else noticed that Sekera has not played a full NHL season?? He is plagued with 'upper body injuries'... I think the Oil already suffer from enough injury problems without trading for some more.

Gags does need to go if it means shuffling players around to make room for Paajarvi and Hartikainen, but no need to rush it, especially if we are not going to get a top 4 Dman or a big, physical, 3rd line centre. Hall would look pretty sweet playing Center.

And I am holding out hope that the Oil D is highly underestimated! Forget rushing to get a top 4 Dman this year, what about Fedun, Tuebert, Maricin, Klefbom, Davidson, and Plante?? I would rather see these guys get shuffled in and out of the roster for the next season to get an idea on how they might work out, rather than making a desperate deal for someone like Bouwmeester Sekera, NEITHER are top 2 Dmen!!!

And PS, I would rather keep Eager around as our resident 'tough guy' over Hordichuk.

Id rather be fighting for the playoffs every year than being out of playoff contention by March.......Sure Darcy overpaid Ville but Oiler fans have to get real with 6+ untouchables and the hopes you're going to throw garbage like Gagner for Myers....
