Kadri is more overrated than Gagner
- oilersfanatic

Not really. The jury is still out on what Kadri brings....everyone KNOWS what Gagner brings. 50 points.

And Oil fans need to realize that Gagner isn't nearly as good as you think he is...he had 47points last year, is undersized, and of those 47points, 8 came in ONE game...take one game out he gets 39 points in 74 games...

Quite content having him grow with the team as our 2nd line C

Grigorenko alone would be worth Gagner and MSP
- JVince117

I know. I had 2 +'s there too of unknown players or picks.

edm and buffalo trade doesnt make much sense unless buffalo is giving back grigs. although gagner isnt that great the oilers have noooo one they can replace him with. I also dont think any of buffalos d that would be coming back would be an upgrade on what the oilers have. if you think myers is going to the oil for gagner your an idiot....
- allen_gamble

If you think grigs is going to Edmonton for Gagner your an even bigger idiot.

Which is above average for a 2nd line C.

Ennis played 48 games and had 34 points...

What makes you think we would trade FOR Gagner who had 47 points in 75 games.

We have all the 2nd line centers we could need.

hodgson, Ennis, Girgensons, Grigorenko, or Ott are all BETTER THAN Gagner.

- JVince117

I would say Ott is a better player but not as a second line center, he seems like a perfect #3 and wouldn't complement the other skilled forwards in the top 6.

Girgensons is unproven and i'll make that judgement when he plays in a top league like next year for instance. Hodgson is basically the same player if he's better it's not by much. Ennis is the only player i would state that is better than gagner. he had what 25 points in his last 25 games?

I'd take Myers any day of the week over Subban. At least Myers plays defense...

Yeah but that's likely his ceiling unless he plays with Eberle and RNH and they just bank pucks off him.

There is no way we would even think about trading a player that has never played on our ice...

Sekera, Leopold, Regehr, Pardy, Weber, or Brennan...

there are EDMs choices.. if we get Gagner back I would not be happy once so ever.. Maybe we will just flip Gagner to Anaheim for Ryan since they want a 2C so bad for him.

Hilarious...
Maybe you should stick to overvaluing Gagner, since he would be Leafs 3rd line centre...

I could see 60ish if he keeps progressing any playing full seasons with the talent the Oil have in their top 6

On Doan; Did I not say the almost exact same thing a few weeks ago Ek when it came out that he wanted 7.5 or 4 years? I said that was not his demand, just what one team had offered. I doubt he ends up signing for more than 6 per for 4 yrs.

On OIL/Sabres: The Sabres just made a HUGE signing bonus payment to Myers. I cant see any way that this is about myers. I hope its not Regehr. Cant stand him. The Oil are not sending the big 4 anywhere. And Gagner is likely not going anywhere without a center coming back. So amkes me believe its a combo of MPS, Lander and Harti that is rumoured.

I dont think PK will be back in Montreal. doesn't look like negotiations are going well and I think Montreal is hoping silently that someone makes a significant offer.

I wouldn't trade RNH for pretty much anyone in the league.
- robin_steele264

So you wouldn't trade RNH for Malkin or Crosby or Getzlaf or Ovechkin or Giroux???

Not even close to being enough......
If Philly or any other team wants Subban they'll have to overpay. Montreal doesn"t have to trade Subban.

ANy deal from Philly starts with Brayden Shenn and Bourdon or Montreal hangs up.
Unless of course Philly wants to give up Giroux!

- Mats Naslund

Schenn is going nowhere. If the Flyers wouldn't even talk about him for Shea Weber, they certainly will not talk about him for PK.

I don't really see an ideal match with the Flyers and Habs here. The Flyers don't want to break up the young core. For once the Flyers have been patient. Granted they offered 3-100 million dollar contracts but they weren't trading away the roster.

With the Mez injury I expect the Flyers to make a move, but not one that mortgages the future.

Why is an above average center prospect (Laughton), a kid who just led rookies in goals last year (Read), a solid D prospect who has had a fair amount of games on the big team, and a 1st rounder not enough for a guy who is probably getting tired of his organization and his value is alot based on potential?

You do realize that over the last 3 years Myers has 29G's 79A's 108P's compared to Gagner having 48G's 82A's 130P's...and one is a 2nd line Centre and the other a defenceman?
Plus Myers is a MONSTER on defence...

Nope, but finishing 37th in scoring among Centers does. I'll explain in case you can't see this..

The top 30 in scoring would be your first line centers. Therefore, Gagner finished 7th in scoring among Second line centers. Now, based on the fact that there are 30 second lines in the league, and each needs a center, the average would be 15th. When considering this, 7th is above 15th, therefore he is above the average.

ABOVE AVERAGE SECOND LINE CENTER. Numbers don't lie.

- BarDownBobo

So by that logic, Grabovski has to be top5 2nd line centres in the league...
