Probably directly from the mouths of Trotz and Poile as they've already said they're talking to Doan about coming here and feel the Preds are on his short list.
It's also been thrown out there today that the Preds have offered Doan 4 years, $28M. Couple that with the fact that a NY paper is saying that an unidentified team has offered Doan 4 years at $7M per and you can see why there's speculation.
Doan loved playing for Trotz. He's friends with Weber and Fisher. I don't see it as such a slam dunk that he won't come to Nashville. - Predaceous
I heard that was Nashville.. it is "the biggest offer for Doan from a WC team"..
of course there being the 4 year 30M deal from either Buf or Carolina.

it's a setting for casting calls that turn into porn.
whether these casting calls are real or made to look that way, who knows.
there are plenty of rumors and stories about casting calls that turn into full blown shecksh.
How does Gagner represent anything more than the guys we already have at center. He is not #1 and we have enough #2 type guys for the season. I can only see us selling off some spare parts ie wingers and defense - Dwight K. Schrute
Solid, young, NHL ready, depth...
Something we'll need should Ennis or Hodgson get banged up for a bit.
It also buys Grigorenko some time. Gagner can play #3 center next year should Grig-O not make the squad.
Sekera and Pysyk for Gagner would thin out the log jam, while supporting our future youth movement... Both teams win.
Show me a team with Ennis, Hodgson, Grigorenko, Girgensons, Luke Adam and Gagner at center... and I'll show you a team with a lot of young promise down the middle.

Hey look, someone who isn't a complete idiot. Thank you, I dunno why that was so difficult to just say, or why something so stupid was troll worthy - ALEDDO
no prob. there's always somebody who's too cool for the thread.
just so happens to be jbold when discussing his avi.
The title states 'MAJOR' deal, so why not dream big?
To EDM: Myers, Leino, Tropp, and a 2nd round pick 2013
To BUF: Petry, Gagner, Paajarvi/Harsky, conditional 1st round pick in 2013 (likely in regards to the playoffs), and a 3rd or 4th 2013 or 2014.
Buffalo gains depth, potential, and a proven top-6 centerman with room for improvement (much like Hodgson). The loss of Myers would really sting, but the addition of Petry would dampen the hit on an already packed blueline. The Oilers, of course, get their treasured top-pairing D-man.
Gagner- who is still only 23 (as of AUG 10th)- is an immediate improvement over Leino's production for a smaller cap hit. Gagner is a given to score you at 40 points, and, with the right wingers, could score upwards of 60. They also receive cap relief. The Oilers get an inconsistent, world-class playmaker who struggled in a somewhat more defensively focused system in Buffalo. If there's any team he can go to that could replicate the Flyers' run & gun style, Edmonton is the place.
Paajarvi and Harksy are both large wingers with at least solid offensive upside. Tropp- from what I've watched and read- is a grinding, aggresive forechecker with 3rd line potential. Think a slower Jannik Hansen.
The picks are what I used to balance the deal as best as I could. Fortunately for Edmonton, both Leino and Myers underachieved this past season. Of course a deal like this would never happen, and any deal between the two organizations is unlikely.

This is a joke right?
O wait I see how this works. OK. How about RNH-Hall-Eberle and a 2012 2nd for Sekera-Adam-Gerbe and a 2012 1st

Maybe it's Sekera and Luke Adam for Gagner then? - SuperCat
that wouldn't be the worst thing in the world for us.. but Gagner is just garbage.. unless we slot him in on our 3rd line between Ott and Leino.. THats just A LOT of coin for a 3C
I bet you couldn't even get Gagner to lay a hit in NHL 12.
