okay that I agree with... I see what your hold up is...
I agree.. if it was just a 1 year deal.. and we did not have a deal in place.. or an assurance that he would extend with us... it would be quite a bit much for 1 year. |

Didnt pretty much the whole Great Britain Island hate one another? - hubie
As someone who lived in England until they were 22 I can tell you that yes, the United Kingdom is hardly united - everyone hates each other - and for no real reason.
England likes to hate on other nations too like France and Germany. It's like WWII just ended over there and everyone still carries a chip on their shoulder. |

The jets are the biggest compilation of meatheads and all talk to no game football players you can do. They are like a reality tv show. |

Well, like the old Miller Genuine Draft commercial said: "It's hard to respect the French when you've had to bail them out of two big ones in one century, but you have to hand it to them on mayonnaise". |

Craig Rivet part 2, guy is solid but no longer able to play more than 18 mins and most likely will slow down even more this year. If he can play 18 mins and be a plus player I would take that. I want to see Myers playing the same minutes as Drew Doughty to take the heat off the other guys. When you have a horse you ride him hard. |

Robyn Regehr was our #1 defensemen on our PK unit and did average 18+ minutes of ice team.

Doan Narrows list to 3 teams : Manhattan, Pittsburgh and Vancouver.

cya - GERBE!!!75PTS
i read further down.....
Over the weekend, CSNWashington.com continued its look ahead to the 2014 Sochi Games by projecting which blueliners may represent the U.S..
LOCKS:
Ryan Suter (Minnesota Wild)
Jack Johnson (Columbus Blue Jackets)
Keith Yandle (Phoenix Coyotes)
The projected list goes on to list Erik Johnson and Ryan McDonagh as "Probables"
Dustin Byfuglien, Matt Carle, John Carlson, and Kevin Shattenkirk as "In The Mix"
Zach Bogosian, Alex Goligoski, Jordan Leopold, Paul Martin, Brooks Orpik, and James Wisniewski as "Long Shots"
with Justin Faulk, Jake Gardiner, Seth Jones, and Jared Tinordi as "See You In 2018".
i know he's listed in the "long shots" category, but there must be some teams out there that would value Leopold if we were to put him on the market...
or use him as a piece in a package deal...
i found it interesting to see he's being thought of this highly

and he played with what seemed like a different defense partner every 3 games...
i think he'll be much better this season
HOWEVER,
even though i know it wouldn't look "good" to trade him,
but IMO...
it'd be absolutely stupid to not trade Regehr and/or Leopold if we don't plan on extending them
defensemen had insane trade value at the deadline last year
i could see us possibly wanting to hang onto ONE of them to play on our 3rd pair and give us a bit of vetern pressence back there with all the young talent we have...
but unless we trade TWO of the young guys that are about ready...
(McNabb, Pysyk, Brennan)...
i cant possibly see us keeping both
Mcnabb should definitely be ready to fill a spot by mid-season (if he's not already)... and there's a strong chance that both Brennan & Pysyk will be ready too
we have a ridiculous amout of defensive depth both here and in Rochester...
it's be dumb not to use it to make some upgrades...
or at least get some draft picks that we can then package to move up in the draft or to get us a player
it's not that long ago that zhitnik got philly a young coburn
and we all saw the crazy overpayments that were going on last year for defensemen as well |

he played on team canada at one of the world juniors tournaments
he was elibible to play for either the USA or Canada,
but when he played for Canada, he lost any eligibility to play for the US
he can only play for Team Canada going forward |

Most number 1 defensemen play more than 18 minutes per game silly goose. The Kings number 1 D man was Drew Doughty and he played 30 minutes most nights on the way to the cup. Erhroff and Myers are number 1 and 2 or should be. 18 mins for a D man is nothing, even top forwards get more icetime than that on other teams with normal coaching.
What I said was "He is no longer able to play MORE than 18 mins". He is not going to be that shut down guy for a long playoff run. We need Myers to be the number 1 guy. Regehr was solid if you like guys who's plus minus is like Tiger Woods in his prime at the masters. Not every D man who goes against number 1 lines finishes with a minus 12. He will keep getting slower as the season goes on, the guy is going to fall apart like Mckee and Rivet at the same age. |

Just for sake of conversation...
If Buffalo were looking to trade for a guy like Danny Briere, Robyn Regher is most definately the type of guy Philly would take interest in!
Regher, Leino, and Sulzter to Philly for Danny Briere:
Vanek/Briere/Pominville
Ennis/Hodgson/Stafford
Ott/Grigorenko/Foligno
Gerbe/McKormik/Kaleta
Myers/McNabb
Erhoff/Leopold
Webber/Sekera |

They're not trading Regher (unless he asks) after the owner flew there and lobbied him to come here. Doubt they want Leino with his contract. Philly would likely ask for something like Mcnabb, Staff, and a 1st |

If the Flyers were going to trade Briere, they would be looking to get younger and make some salary cap room. That trade proposal does neither. |

With all due respect, your trade proposal is awful.
Those are close to the last 3 that would be traded. Like in the aforementioned comments Robyn was lobied for heavily and waived a no trade clause to come here. Which for one might still apply, and two would be a total Richard move. Which we wont do because Pegula is not about Richard moves.
The Philadelphia Flyers are not trading to aquire Leino at any cost after that contract and that season. What a joke. We just signed him, why would we admit the mistake and attempt to move him? Total Richard move. I dont think any of the 29 teams in the NHL would trade for him at any cost.
Sulzer, we just signed him. He's cheap and brings an X-factor to the Table with Erhoff. Again, Richard move.
Remember Richard moves not only anger the party affected, but our reputation with potential other free agents.
again Cat, with all due resect. |
