Your time might be better spent directing your ire towards the owners of the Barclays Center.
Or simply reading the specs - it's not suitable for hockey. - Atomic Wedgie
I saw the specs. This is 2012. They can change the building without much trouble.
Why would I be mad at the owner's of the Barkley Center?
As for spending time? It took me 20 seconds to write and send the last post.
Both of your posts are Idiotic. |

people can talk trash about isles but think about how much worst it could be. You could MapleLeafs who have missed playoffs more years than isles and Unlike us, Have one of the highest Payrolls in NHL.
Sorry Leaf Fans, But Burke is Milbury 2.0. Has no patience in his players.
Schenn was suppose to be your cornerstone of your Defense. I guess alot can change in just few years.
very Classy move by JT.
Hey anyone have any thoughts on Satan as cheap one year signing?

oh btw, that Barclays layout is hideous. Imagine what it would look like on TV.
If Brooklyn is the only way isles stay in NY, then im fine with it.
But I wont be a season ticket holder if they move there. |

Good luck with that.

Here's the thing, though- it's still a NEW arena, with (I'm sure) decent facilities for the players, as opposed to the Nassau County Asbestos and Rat Sh*t Memorial Coliseum. If they decide to stay (i.e., sign long term), it will be reconfigured, guaranteed. If it's just temporary until the new building is ready, it won't be an issue. |

They won't leave it that way if the Isles move there permanently...there's no way. I'm sure they provided for that eventuality, as far as space, etc. They just didn't want to spend the money to configure it fully for a hockey team that wasn't playing there, for which I can't blame them.

Burke's a** cheese is smarter than Milbury- he just has tremendous pressure to win now, having started with the lump of cr*p left by his predecessor. That's got to be the worst job in the NHL, right there.

what exactly can be reconfigured? there isnt any possible way to put seats behind one net... That is a huge problem.. it cant be fixed without redoing the brand spaking new arena... thats not an option.

They did not provide for the option of an NHL rink.
It's simply not an option. |

The bottom line: both the Leafs and Isles suck. They have both sucked for a while. Fans of neither team should be taking shots at the other. |

The difference being, the Leafs have money to spend........and spend it.
Say what you will about Burke.......like him or not, at least he tries to make his team better. At least he's active in the trade market.......

I love many of Burke's trades and do not understand how he fleeces people most of the time. That said, the fact that he spends as much cash as he does and still produces a poopty team year after year should not be used as a positive. |

Whenever you take over a team with basically ZERO prospects, it takes time. I will admit i thought he gave up too much for Phil Kessel, but he felt like he needed a top line player and he went out and got one. Yes the leafs have sucked, but he took over the team with nothing to work with.
As I mentioned before, the guy is active.......gotta like that if you're a leafs fan. |

Yes, active in the trade market is good. Like I said, the majority of his trades (Kaberle, Versteeg, Phaneuf, Lupol) have been winners BUT, at what point is it on him that 6? years later they are still no better off and every UFA signing he has made has been a bust or a depth player (Komisarek, finger, Armstrong, Connolly) |

So you're willing to give Burke more time than Snow, who also took over a team with ZERO prospects but has a fraction of the budget? |

I dont disagree, it should be on him if they dont make the playoffs this year.

I would take the Isles roster over the Leafs roster...
Considering they basically started the rebuilds @ the same time... I think we have more potential going forward.
And they spend alot more $$$$$!!!!! |

No, not at all........they should both be held accountable after this year. The difference is, the leafs will fire Burke for under performing, where as the isles will praise Snow for his patience and due diligence.
Bottom line : I'd rather a GM strike out swinging, then standing there watching the pitch go by.....
Cannot believe i used baseball in my analogy, but it worked!

Well yes.......the isles prospect pool is better, but as we've seen, you cannot win on just drafting. The leafs problem is that they ONLY bring in UFA's or make trades. The original discussion was how the leafs have drafted sooo poorly for so long. Its not a knock on the leafs, it just is what it is..... |

The big thing for them is a first line centre, and a goalie.
They are strong on defence.
Isles on the other hand have their top centre, and lots of goalie depth.
They need to fill out the blueline, which they are attempting to do through the draft, and the Vis trade.
They could also give Tavares a little more help on the big line!!! |
