By next year, I have a feeling he'll be fighting for the #1 spot on the prospect ranking. - TommyDeVito
If Killer thinks he looks like Doughty, then I am inclined to believe him. |

I'm suprised you didn't show any love for Pageau. The Murrays seemed to be high on this guy. |

Puempel should have a huge year. I expect him to be so hot that he should make Canada's WJC.
I agree on Prince, he is really the wild card of the bunch. I am concerned about his strength at the big league level. - Cup 06
Puempel hopefully learns from a system that is proving to be one of the top OHL to NHL programs right now. He better be ready to conform and work his tail off because they don't accept the current level of Matt puempel effort, at least the effort he provides when he doesn't have the puck and isn't within 20 feet of the opposing net. |

He's so small... and he's one of those players who looks small too. He's very quick though and he's a fighter so he has the stuff that could see him to the NHL, but he's probably not as sure a bet to do so, hence not being on the list. |

He sure have to get bigger, but when the skill is there... Maybe a long therm project. I would still put him ahead of da Costa. |

Our management seems to love DaCosta, for whatever reason. I havent seen a second of his Bingo games so I couldnt tell you anything about him but they love the work he puts in, the skill he brings and the poise he shows. I tend to not comment on guys I haven't seen play (and outside of the few games of limited minutes he showed in the NHL) I honestly have no opinion on him. |

"(and outside of the few games of limited minutes he showed in the NHL) I honestly have no opinion on him."
I don't think he played enough, and especially in a role that is suited for his role at the enxt level, to really assess him as to whether or not he translates. I think if I saw him more in Bingo playing top 6 minutes, I'd have a better opinion of him.

You can tell that he is a very heady player. Makes good instinctive plays. Seems to lack the endurance by all accounts. He worked on it by staying in Ottawa last summer but by March he had hit the wall. What is disconcerting is that he chose not to stay in Ottawa this summer. We will see how he is in camp but he will be hard pressed to crack the line up. He needs to play a top 9 role to be effective. Another full season in Bingo playing with talented wingers like Stone will help. |

Good read... Not a big fan of Wercioch, I'd have Mark Borowiecki as an honorable mention instead; from what I'm hearing he should make the team next year, and consecutive years as "hardest working" player in development camp shouldn't be ignored (all past winners have gone on to play in the NHL) |

Da Costa is a smart player who anticipates and sees the ice well...
- Brian Huddle
I guess he just wanted to be hit by Phaneuf when i watched him. |

Nice blog. Nice to see an outsiders view of the Sens prospects. We Sens fans on the Sens blogs can often get a little unrealistic/bias with our prospects. However, judging by most of your comparisons, we should be in good shape going forward. |

I really liked his game in pre season and the handful of games he got in the NHL early last year. He has the tools to become a pretty legit player in the NHL eventually. The biggest hurdle for him I think is switching from a NCAA "laid back" schedule to a professional "play all the time" schedule. Not sure why everyone is so quick to overlook him. Was nice to see him on this list. |

You guys have drafted well the last couple of years and really stocked up some good prospects. Also you have Lehner, who looks like he could turn into one of those goalies who makes average teams good, and good teams great. |

If he stays healthy, he will be one of the best players in Binghampton.
He reminds me a lot of Desharnais, but he's way ahead of him in the skating department. I was really mad when you guys snagged him right before our pick. |

How you don't consider Lehner a blue chip prospect is beyond me. |

Comparing Lehner to Lundqvist is ballsy - tomburton99
With all due respect you're being polite. Comparing Lehner to Lundqvist is absurd. Lundqvist is the poster child of composure (rightfully deviating last year in the playoffs) while Lehner is still immature, in the least, and a head case, at most. You can't teach intelligence and that's too bad because combining this instability with mediocre potential makes the comparison more Mason than Lundqvist.
Zib like Ryan Kesler is ludicrous. Two completely different players.

Wasn't Robin Lehners dad Lundqvist's goalie trainer in Sweden?
Im not that impressed by Zibby yet. Kinda invisible in the SEL last season.
But the boy is young and probably has a bright future ahead? |

The best thing for him would be playing top line minutes in Bingo for a full season. |

they're both swedes, they both play the same style, and lehner's father was lundqvists goalie coach in sweden........i think it was probably the easiest comparison of the bunch.
besides, i don't think he's saying he WILL be like lundqvist.....he's saying that IF he plays to his max potential, he COULD be as good (or close) to lundqvist. |

Wow. - dawgzhouse
nothing funnier than watching a leaf fan criticize the sens goalie and center prospects....ironic that it's the two positions where the leafs have pretty much zero nhl or prospect strenght........... |
