Kesler is not ahead of schedual. His agent squashed it and reports of a second surgery(which is not news). There was a Canuck inquiry into Arnott reported the day before confirmed by agent... Kesler is out till sometime in Dec at least. They have to be looking past just letting Schroeder run the 2nd and 3rd line. With or without Doan a depth C is needed. Schroeder and Malholtra are a gamble.
Whats with this management rushing Kesler? Funny how the blame gets put on him for coming back too early yet here is the Kesler camp putting the brakes on after what Gillis said.

“It’s not happening,” Overhardt said Thursday. “He’s not ahead of schedule and there’s no rushing him back. He’s on course to return in December and he’s not returning until he’s 100 per cent. Don’t expect him until December.”
That’s not the only issue with Kesler. He also had minor surgery on his left wrist June 27. Two days later on his Twitter account, a group picture showed Kesler in a sling and his wrist in a cast with a caption that read: ‘Great times in Michigan.’
“He had been experiencing some mild discomfort and had some tendon issues that needed to be cleaned up,” confirmed Canucks assistant general manager Laurence Gilman.
----------
Also, sounds like Lack's agent is very positive about a long term deal. Looks like there will be no issues keeping Lack on the Wolves.

Kesler being out til December sucks for Nuck fans. Hopefully he stays out long enough to fully recover and doesn't try and rush returning. |

Lack is developing just like Schneider was. Give him one more year in Chicago, then let him back up Schneider for a couple years, and maybe Schneider will be the one moved in 3 years. |

I read a few months back that the interest was more towards bringing back an NBA team rather than an NHL team. Still, they would use the same stadium and Seattle is a sports city that has money. - AlexF
The owner of the arena wants an NBA team but will offer a sweetheart deal to a NHL owner to fill the arena. |

No doubt. Two sports teams in an arena is certainly better than one where revenue is concerned. Plus it'll be a much quicker payback period for the arena owner with the 2 teams.
Aside from the fact that it would awesome to have a division rival in Seattle, I really do think an NHL team can be a success in Seattle similar to San Jose. It has all the ingredients (major corporates, affluent city, populous city) as long as the arena is built in the downtown arena unlike the Coyotes. |

Is San Jose still surviving? I think I remember reading somewhere a month or so back that they have lost 18 mil in each of the past to seasons. |

They lost 7.8m last season but they're still 16th in the Forbes list of NHL teams. They're not Toronto successful but they have been a success story.
Interesting tidbit I read on Seattle. Lol that they've already got a SC to their name.
Seattle
The 1917 Seattle Metropolitans were the first American winners of the Stanley Cup, but folded in 1924, while the Seattle Totems played in the borderline-major Western Hockey League from 1945 to 1975. During the mid-1970s, Seattle was even granted a conditional NHL franchise that never came to fruition because of the Western League's instability (according to season ticket promotions the team would have kept the WHL name of Totems). A Seattle group made an unsuccessful bid on an expansion franchise in 1990. As of 2012, the highest ranking hockey team in Seattle is the Seattle Thunderbirds, a major junior team in the Western Hockey League.
The Seattle Center Coliseum (also known under an expired naming rights deal as KeyArena) is less than ideal for NHL in terms of capacity and sightlines, due to a 1994 renovation that made the arena basketball-specific for the arena's major tenant, the now-relocated Seattle SuperSonics;[51] the league has stated that the Coliseum would be "a difficult arena for hockey."[56]
An unnamed Seattle group expressed its interest to the NHL in 2007.[46] In 2011, the NHL acknowledged that there was interest expressed by a group in Seattle for a team.[56] Multiple reports suggested Chicago Wolves owner and businessman Don Levin had expressed interest in building a new arena in nearby Bellevue that could host an NHL team.[58]
On February 16, 2012, a plan was announced to build a new arena in Seattle's SoDo district just south of Safeco Field. An investment group, headed by hedge-fund manager Christopher Hansen, is proposing to seek a return of the National Basketball Association (NBA) to Seattle and is seeking an NHL team for the arena. The configuration of the proposed arena would be able to accommodate hockey, unlike KeyArena. The arena would be built as a public-private partnership between the City of Seattle and Hansen's group. Hansen's group would invest $290 million and the public sector (city and county) $200 million. The project will not proceed without the confirmed purchase of a professional team as the arena's tenant.[59] Hansen's group has purchased all the land that makes up the arena site.[60] Commenting later that day, NHL Commissioner Bettman stressed that the NHL has no plans for expansion or relocation.[61] Levin has spoken to Hansen and expressed his interest in being involved as the owner of the NHL franchise that would be the tenant in the arena. Levin has also expressed his interest to Bettman.[62]
On July 25, 2012, it was reported that Wayne Gretzky was meeting with Bellevue officials regarding an NHL team in the Seattle area. [63] |

Imagine what would happen if they lost just one year of playoff revenue, two years would kill them. |

Until that day arrives here when that team arrives here, the Canucks are among my top 5 favourite teams. So in a way that does make me a Canucks fan -- and I watch most of their games (some live, most on TV). |

It might be the exact opposite. As we seen when they were in the conferance finals with the canucks, they don't have a ton of fans. Trading your "franchise" player would probably make it worse. Combine that with no revenue from playoffs and u have disaster. Perhaps luongo becomes more attractive? |

I define a power forward as someone who can put up the points, and is also able to go in the corners, hit hard, and also take pishment ot make a play.
I think owan nolan is probably the best all time power forward so I'd always compare against him. Gary Roberts a close second.
I think Ovechkin is probably the best now, although i think Jonathon Toews should get some honorable mention here. - B-Wforever
did you hear that someone said Owan Nolan is the best PF of "All Time"? |
