Are the avs even listening to offers? All ive heard is speculation about him. - IceColdBeer
I guess I have not actively seen that they are shopping.. but when you look at their circumstance it is like ours..
They have O'Reilly as their clear 1C.. Duchene as their 2C.. and a 6.6M Stastny as their 3c?? that makes no sense just like how we have 42 D-Men signed right now.
Unless Colorado is planning to use Duchene as a winger with Stastny on the 2nd line which they did Duchene's rookie year.. I think they would easily listen for offers since it is well known they are looking for a scoring winger.
They DO NOT by any means have to move Stastny's salary.. they are like 20M under the cap and barely over the floor if I am thinking right. |

I would actually say that O'Reilly is not their 1C. He's good and he's going to be a key player for them, but he shouldn't be their #1. |

He got all of their 1C minutes last year.. and I believe led the team in ice time by a non-defender..
He lead the NHL is GV/TKA differential as well..
I think that is where is loosely penciled in at... I do see your point though.

There's more to it than that though. I do think he's going to have a good career though. He's an effective player already. |

I do undoubtedly agree that there is much more to it than that...
I would guess....
Landeskog - O'Reilly - Winnik
Jones - Duchene - Parenteau
Downie - Stastny - Hejduk
That was what they looked like late last year. I could see Winnik not being on the top line but that was where they were last year I thought. Kobasew saw top 9 minutes for awhile too. |

I heard a whisper the other day of something we really haven't thought of...
I heard that Pardy could stay as our 7th D-man... that way Weber could play in Rochester to get more minutes and be able to play consistently to get better.
Does Weber have a 2-way?? I didn't think so? |

I think it just all circles around Grigorenko right now. In my opinion he'll be on the team so unless Ennis or Hodgson go back to COL Stastny coming here doesn't make sense. I'm not sure where Gerbe fits on this team anymore. Marleau is the guy I want. Sharks need to shake up that core. Their defense is very solid so we'd have to go offense with them. They could def. use scoring on the wing. No idea what it would take to get him. |

We just have too many lower tier/line players on this team..both forwards and d. something has to give. |

Marleau's NTC would give us too many headaches with him.. I can't see him waving that... plus he is a center moved to wing for a reason..
I agree that Grigorenko and Girgensons are vital keys to our roster this year..
If either of them have a chance to make the team. .they would be our 3rd scoring line center with Ott and Leino.
I don't see a spot for Gerbe either.. I think he is a 1.5M paid 40 game player..
Between Scott, Tropp, and Gerbe.. .they will share games depending on the match up..
if it is against a Boston, NYR, Ottawa, or TML I could see Scott getting a bunch of those starts.. if it is against a team like Pitt, NJD, or NYI.. I could see Tropp and Gerbe sharing those games as our energy/spark plug guy. |
