Sign him up Burke. Cheap and he'd take the number one role. He is a quality tender that got paid too much. His numbers are pretty good over there I believe. |

The dude used to play for the Kings before they got their act together. Remember when your team was laughed at for resorting to that? I think we'll pass on Huet. Thanks though.

He also played for L.A. (maybe a total of 50 games) before he established himself playing for Montreal... |

Raycroft 2.0 - Phenom
The only difference is. Raycroft cost Tukka Rask. Huet would not cost anything except a 1 way contract.
From this list. besides Bobby Ryan. Who is worthy of mentioning?????? |

The Ryan trade will likely happen. But, Anahiem knows they get their best value once Doan is off the market. Assume Doan signs with a western team (Phoenix, LA or Vancouver).
The four teams in the running for Ryan would be Rangers, Flyers, Buffalo and Ottawa. If you assume Ottawa offers a variatuin on the package to what they offered for Rick Nash (Zibanejad, Lehner, Foligno and a #1 2013) it gives a pretty good idea of what might be required to finalize a deal.
My understanding is that Anahiem wants young players and prospects without having to take back huge salary. I further assume that they are only considering moving Ryan because they want to lock Getzlaf and Perry into long term deals this summer.

Couturier AND Schenn for Ryan?? Bobby Ryan???
Murray needs to check into a rehab if he thinks he can get a package like that for Ryan. At least Weber is a legit superstar and stud defenseman. Ryan, while a solid 30-35 goal scorer, is NOT a franchise player in any stretch of the imagination, and I wouldn't include either Couturier or Schenn in a deal for him.
Read, Bourdon and 2 1st round picks is the MAX I would offer for Bobby Ryan.
Whats next? Someone paying 8 million per season for a 35 year old 25 goal scorer??

I have always liked Arnot. He is big and plays with an edge. I would take him on my Leafs anyday... I know he is old, but I feel he has always been under rated and would be a great fit on most teams and wouldn't cost much...
As for Huet, no thanks. And what is with all the former Montreal goalies who while they are in Montreal are hyped to be the next great goalie, then 1 year later they suck (ala Theodore)??? Is it the curse of Patrick Roy? |

Ryan to Philly is flat out stupid...I'd rather take a shot at Arnott or Doan and pick up another dman somewhere down the line... |

I just barfed! this is why I give Burke all the patience in the world. He had to take over for a GM that did things like this. |

Ryan is amazing but that trade makes zero sense for Philly. You are right, a vet forward and a top 4 dman is what they need. |

I would pick Semin over Kessel, Kessel play the same way. Skate fast on the wing, turn to center after crossing the blue line 'cause he didn't skate pass by the defense then shoot, never pass. Now you know how he was alone in the offensive zone. |

Kessel would've cost 1,2,3 round pick with the offer sheet but Burke decided to trade 2 1st and 2nd. |

Amen, brother. Do what I do before you logon onto HB: turn down the volume on your computer and stick a post-it-note on your screen where her face is going to pop up. |

and his assists were finally higher than he goals since 2006. |

Huet was a fine goaltender and a great teamate, if it wasn't for his contract (5.5 M per I think) he would have never left the NHL.
Yes Huet was hyped but he did a very good job in Montreal and Theodore won the hart and the vezina... how do you expect fans not to get excited about stuff like that? |
