As for Feaster, it has been reported on several occasions that he has been working the phones constantly trying to make things happen. He did just trade for the negotiating rights to Wideman. IMO that's a pretty big move, not a hockey trade by any means, admittedly.

Back to hockey. Colin, Bobby Butler was bought out from the Sens, IYO, is he worth looking at. If we weren't up close to the limit in contracts, I wouldn' t mind giving him a 1 year contract. The kid has skills, he just needs to find a comfort level I think. He is a RW as well which we lack organizationally.

It's pretty simple; he's going to get playing time in EDM. With EDM derth of D talent, he will have the chance to play big minutes and perhaps solidify a top spot on the team. And, yes, with all the young talent up front it is a good situation for him.

It's not ideal but it may be the best we could do. Is Filpula any better than the current 2nd and 3rd line centers we already have? Also, I have questions re: Ericsson's durability as well. Like others here, I think the pick could be the deciding factor.

It would open up other trade possibilites with forwards and Filpula's skills should fit into what I believe Feaster is trying to do; skill and speed.

Thats not a bad deal, Ericsson could plug that 3-4 spot while Brodie develops to that 3-4 position. Would love to add a Nemitz to get Detroit to throw in their 2013 1st rounder & then I would say I am really liking this deal.

I would think so. But again, it is all just potential right now. Although I can certainly see the attraction for Schultz.
