Truth is there are other developers that would love to build there... problems are Wang has final say of the land until 2015. These developers will not spend their money on something that Wanger could just say no too. (like TOH did to him) Then there's the other part that these developers have said how they want an arena included but with Wangers Camp staying silent on the matter, doesn't help. (no team, no need for an arena) Wang has a chance to keep the team right where they are

I have yet to see one study or person come forth to say or show that CW can make money off the Isles just by getting them into a new arena.

I am no Wang apologist or sympathizer, but I understand his point on the arena issue. The guy has a right to make money off his investment. The more "developers" that get involved in the Hub redevelopment, the more people need to make money off the deal. How can CW make money off the team if another developer has to come in, demo the NVMC, build a new arena, then get paid? I don't blame CW for not signing off on another developer re-developing that site unless CW gets some assurances that CW is going to make money off the team as a result of the re-development.

The sad part is, Wang is the best owner this team has ever had.

Not sure, but he was all for the referrendum that would have just been a new arena if I remember. I think being the owner of the Marriot, he needs something done at the site. I would imagine that the hotel would lose a ton of business if the arena was gone. I also think a Marriot overlooking a giant slab of unkempt cement wouldn't be great for business either.

As a tennant, with the cable deal they have, I'm sure he can find a way to make money.

Right, because he wasn't laying out any money to build the new arena or demo the old one under the referrendum. The referrendum also didn't involve another private entity who would have surely needed to receive scheduled payments out of the profits from the arena should they foot the bill to demo the old and build the new.
