(According to Capgeek,) We have 11 forwards signed at $2.7 mil average hit. The Flyers have 13 signed at $2.4 mil average. Take Briere out and they are at $2.1 mil average per forward, and I bet they still end up top 10 in goal scoring. Crazy.

If I had to handicap the race, I'd say that Philly and the Rangers have the early pole position in the Doan Derby. Pittsburgh, Buffalo, and Montreal fill out the top five.

Doan just needs to sign a 1 year deal with whatever team he feels can win the cup then go back to the Coyotes (or whoever and wherever they may be) and finish his career there just like Robitaille and Bourque did toward the end of their careers.
