Kane would help this team score goals if he were here, but he wouldn't necessarily help them win games, not this team, not as it is constructed right now. Kane is like Richards and Carter with a little more talent. They're great to have if you have a team full of superstars, and don't have to rely on them to be "the guy". However, if they're the kingpin, your team is going to struggle. The Sabres need a guy that can handle the role of kingpin and win games. Kane has never done that. There are much better options out there for that role.

I would give them Miller - but then again I don't put as much emphasis on goal tending that some people do.

I would have to think that if Darcy is willing to trade Ennis for Ryan, he is trying to acquire another center first. Trading Ennis for Ryan, while a good move, would still leave a gaping hole up the middle that you can't go into the season without filling. I wonder if that is part of the "holdup" for the Ryan deal.

Id rather see Stafford go and theyd be getting a big winger in return for a winger but Id say your right if anyone being dangled its probably Ennis and maybe Sekera and a draft pick.

I would think about that.. i am not sure Kane really fits Ruff's mold of player though, which would be an issue. Who splits time with Enroth, i am not sure we have anyone else really worth a damn and Enroth can't take the entire load in net. do they give crawford with Kane?

Why does everyone ask this? Don't get me wrong, I like the guy, enjoy conversing back and forth with him, and he has established that he has a credible source within the team, but he can't make the Sabres do anything. He can only tell what he's heard. His posting or not does not increase or decrease the Sabres' chances of making a move. The majority of what he says merely confirms what we can figure out on our own. I'm not knocking him, just saying there's very little to report. If there was, we'd know about it, and he'd probably tell us about 5-10 minutes before the media found out about it.

EDIT: and about an hour before Eklund found out and (e5)'ed it.
