homer was expecting the .920 sv % that bryz played up to 3 out of 4 yrs in PHO...that and much better consistency.
I like his chances to bounce back this yr, but I won't judge w/ bryz colored glasses. - isaiah520
That's what it will be with him for me.
This isn't a guy like Biron we brought in to just be a solid guy who doesn't let in the weak stuff.
Bryzgalov needs to play, as any goaltender with a high salary, at a high level. With consistency. Not all the time, as like any goaltender there will be trouble spots in a season. The weak goals were what was killer, and that needs to simply stop. Or decrease big time because there were far too many.
I'll stop here though, I dont want to debate Bryzgalov further. |

There is a large amount of Flyer fans that are outside of the USA, so I am going to ignore that comment . I could care less if those fans in Philadelphia do not take anything that happens in international hockey seriously. This is the same country where there is a huge rise in people buying guns for "protection" after the theatre shootings. So you will excuse me in not basing my posts purely on the norms of the USA.
Like you, I truly hope he does well. If not him then Leighton or whoever is between the pipes. My question was purely speculative, if he doesn't do well, and is as inconsistent as he was last season does the organization continue to stick with him.
It is true I only pointed out his negatives. I'm not going to sing kum-bah-yah after every negative thing said. Or give a positive after every negative. Too much political correctness bs in the world and not enough people being blunt. - flyer_nutter
Yea I think Nittymaki had a great olympics how'd that work out

Hockey is hockey.
Bryzgalov had a great time in Phoenix.
We will see how that works out as well

Why? We have an entire 12 man offensive lineup already

That's the key. Right now, unless the Jets were willing to make a deal for Read and picks, I wait. |

I don't like talbot as the fourth center, rather have him on a wing. |

I'd also like to see Read with Giroux & Voracek with Briere.
Might be the better. |

Giroux is a play maker Read is a shooter pair it together.
Voracek is a play maker not a shooter, Briere is a shooter, just seemed like a good idea. |

makes sense. My only objection to that combo is it seems a little undersized but otherwise seems like a good idea. |

I was about to say the same thing. I think Homer expects VCek to take the next step in his development this year. |

Everyone seems to like Talbot on the wing. Any solid 4th line centerman that win a high pct of faceoffs left? |

Just an idea, that's what they can use the pre-season for and may use during the season if things need a shake up. |

I will admit, with everything that happened, I am not really a fan of Bryzgalov.
Is this a make or break it season for him? - flyer_nutter

It sucks we didn't get Weber. It really does. But guess what??
Hartnell-Grioux-Simmonds

Rusty-Talbot-Rinaldo/Sestito

Coburn-Grossmann
Meszy-Gusty/Gervais
That's a Cup contender if Bryz plays even close to March-esque, which is very possible with a solid D-corps in front of him.

Not really. Mike Zigomanis is a good faceoff guy, but doesn't do much else. Dominic Moore has family issues and is really more third line guy. |
