I wouldnt go near any of the three. Huselius has played 41 games over the past two seasons, and hasnt played in more than 75 games since 07.

Hannan would interest me, execept for the fact that we already have him. His name is Andreas Lilja.

Kubina would be a serious no go. We had a first hand look at what he could bring.. and passed.

Well Huselius can be low risk, high reward. He's got talent, and can put the puck in the net, the fact he's been injured the last two years means he can come cheaply.

can he play at all? Thats the first question I would ask. CC has only made it to 70 games 1 time in his 9 year career.

I wouldn't mind Huselius, and Carlo C on cheap one year deals.
- PLindbergh31

Forgot about Carlo.. Hanann brings clearing in front of Bryz..

And we called Carter soft?

Those two are about as prone to injury as my 75 year old Parkinsonian grand mother.

- jak521

Yes, they are injury prone, but they are low risk, they wouldn't cost a ton.

its going to costs more than that.

Pass Big time then because Read, Gus a 1 and 3 is an overpayment. Heck you could keep Read sign Arnott and CC and still have gus and the 2 picks and your team would be in better shape than with Ryan.

HUGE Overpayment. I really don't understand the wet dream people have w/ Bobby Ryan on this board. He's good, but he's not worth 3-4 players. Watch Voracek pot 30 this year on G's RW and let the core mature.

- bgratch

I'd do Read, Laughton, Gus and 2 1sts

how in the hell do you figure we have a 2-3 year window with the amount of youth we have on this team?
- jak521

You can make sh!t up, or you can look at history. Not a lot of teams making noise 4 years straight.

I am making a statement that suggests as the youth movement gets legs, each player will require a higher salary. You could have said the same thing with your wide open window and assumed Carter, Richards, JVR, Pronger, and Carle would be on the team.

The team in 4 years will likely be radically different than this team. You may have Giroux and Coots and Schenn, but no one else.

Unfortunately for me, my brilliance is only proven out over time, giving many an opportunity to attack in the short term. No worries.

Cheers!

You wuold be fired as a GM. Read is almost as good a Ryan and he's better per dollar by a ton.

I dont care who is on the team, suggesting their window will close in 2-3 years is absurd. You are talking about a team that will do whatever it takes to win. We have super young core intact.. all that is needed is a bit of patience. Even in the next (now you say) 4 years this team could have an even bigger window. The window is only closing for guys like Timonen or Briere... its just starting to open for the core.

Nooooo way I do that trade.....thats crazy man. I like Ryan as much as the next guy. But I'm not including the young centers. Read, MAB, 1st, 2nd is as far as I go. And I'm not even crazy about that.

I disagree -- Bobby Ryan is a stud. Read is still developing.....I think Read can top out at 25, possibly 30 a year. Bobby Ryan will consistently put up 30+ and maybe even 40 playing with Giroux.

I don't see the Flyers as a good match for a Bobby Ryan trade, at least based on what the Ducks are looking for.

It's been said that the Ducks want at least a 2nd line center + for him. The only guys on the Flyers that qualify are Giroux, Briere, Couturier and Schenn. And hopefully the Flyers would never part with any of them for Ryan.

I celebrate your passion, but question your cerebrum. I am sure the Blackhawks felt the same way. They were wise though - they had a young team and got Hossa and it put them over the top. Deep young team.

Lets not argue, but celebrate the greatness of our city as well as the upcoming arrival of Mr. Ryan.

To our health and happiness!

tough offer for the Flyers to compete with

would have loved a 3yr/$15 mil type deal, but it wasn't meant to be.
