I think weber was fine stayin there all along. He would have stayed for the right deal and the offer sheet guaranteed him his money whether in Nashville or Philadelphia. - funmaster18
i still thinks he pulls a nash when he finds his career isnt going anywhere...then again i might be wrong...i dont think a guy like that will settle being on a non contender, but then again i dont know nashville as team that well to comment on. All i know is they couldnt sniff the cup with suter there. i doubt it will be much better without him. |

This was posted on CSNPhilly.com. Anyone see what the problem with it is?
Jake Voracek will be a Flyer next season, and for three years beyond that.
The restricted free agent winger has signed a four-year deal, $17 million deal with the Flyers, a source confirmed. The story was first reported by the Czech outlet iSport.cz.
Voracek first arrived in Philadelphia from Columbus last summer as part of the Jeff Carter trade. In his first year as a Flyer, he scored 18 goals and recorded 31 assists for 49 point in 78 total games.
Given his now sizable cap hit -- $4.5 million annually -- it would appear as though the Flyers have big plans for the 22-year-old moving forward. Those plans could include a move to the top line, where Voracek could fill the spot vacated by Jaromir Jagr beside Claude Giroux and Scott Hartnell. - MJL
I'm sure I am way Leight on this one being I am about 10 pages behind but whoever posted that and edited it isn't all that good at math |

Word. Here is the option I like. This was in the blog from Vancouver.
Kristian Huselius
Huselius is one of the most skilled players left unsigned. I had him on my radar on day one and think he would be an interesting option to play with Kesler and Booth. He's shown the ability to put up points in the past and will likely sign for around the 2 million dollar mark because of his recent injury history. My guess is he's waiting for the Semin and Doan signings to go down and hoping to cash in when he is the best player left. It wouldn't shock me at all if Vancouver misses out on Doan, Gillis picks up Huselius on a one or two year deal. |

It's neither. I don't see where your catching flack for saying you'd move Schenn for Bogosian.
And again I'll ask you if having JVR still means we can acquire Bogosian. Or PK Subban, who is another player you repeatedly pushed.
And while your replying and asking if I get it. Show me where I've said I wouldn't trade Schenn for Bogosian, or a similar yuong defenseman with that upside.
Again, there seems to be a disconnect on what is actually being said on this board. - MJL
many have insisted there's no way homer would move schenn for another dman if he wouldn't do it for weber...whether schenn was even on the table for weber is pure conjecture and beside the point.
having JVR obviously gives us more forward depth so moving schenn is not as much of a loss...pretty obvious. I'll repeatedly push pk and bogo as 2 guys that are worth pursuing because I believe in their potential...seems like many others are coming to similar conclusions. we'll have to see if they reach their potential. it appears as if bogo would be more available.
I dont recall saying that you would object to moving b schenn...you keep harping on how I'm selling his brother short, but my point is that homer shouldn't have been involved w/ Luke to begin with if we were left with such an obvious need. save the asset and use a more valuable asset to get the plyr w/ the higher ceiling and you've made one move to accomplish your goal. right now, the flyers have good plyrs but a questionable mix and injury concerns.
a bit of a straw man...but that can happen when nearly every exchange has the potential to devolve into a vigil. |

I think his mega deal will keep him happy long enough for Nashville to try and put together a contender. They did pretty well last year so they aren't that far off. Will he stay there for the entire 14 years? That im not sure of. The preds will want to get some mileage out of this deal with it being so heavily front loaded. |

actually him saying they would match tells me something: he took a wild guess and was right. When I looked at this thing i thought yea, they can match it, just like yea I can go buy the new computer I need but I won't be able to pay my bills next month or give my kid a birthday. Just like I want to see how Nashville is going to handle this massive payment to Weber. Are they going to be a team that can't retain good players and have to move? I believe so but really I hope not, cause i do like Shea Weber and have no ill will toward that organization, but I think they made a bad business decision. - JoeRussomanno

when it comes to the Weber situation...I really believe Homer was thinking of next year where it could be a bidding war. Sure, it would've great to get Weber. But, what Homer did was kept him at this time out of the Eastern Conference. Not really a win win but it still helped out his team by keeping him away from the other Eastern conference teams. Now that Nash' matched the offer, it's their business to pay. I could care less!!! |

Really? Take out the past two seasons because of injury and scores over 50 points a season consistently, not sure if thats Casper like.
Looking more as a depth player who can help score some goals for this team on the cheap. Not sure what he gets on the market though. |

prob formed that impression watching him during that injury filled season. he has good hands, but seems like more of a perimeter plyr at age 34. don't know where he would fit w/ our current mix. |
