No calculator on their cell phones? - bodiva88
for that math, a calcuator isn't even needed. |

I'm just giving them the benefit of the doubt. Maybe there's dysmathia. (And yes, I made it up...there probably IS a word for it though.) |

I disagree wholeheartedly that your suggestion that they need to add a defenseman has caught you a share of hell. This board on almost a daily basis discusses the need for the replacement of Pronger now, and Timonen in the future.
Bottom line I'd like to have Weber, Suter, And a whole host of players. But the reality is that you can only get what is available and what you can make deals for. This isn't NHL 12 and fantasy Hockey. If they had kept JVR, does that mean we can now get Bogosian? I doubt it. So Holmgren made a deal for a good young defenseman with a lot of promise. More promise then you give him credit for. - MJL
either your sidestepping or you don't get the argument -
last yr at this time I caught hell for it. now i get flack for saying I'd move schenn for bogo
having JVR would give us the forward depth to make a higher level move. given that we draft forwards well and project Laughton to at least be a 3rd liner, our center position is more than covered of the nxt 3-5 yrs - get it?
so, instead of making a lower level move that left us needing a dman still, I want to go for higher stakes. |

The 2014 -2015 season is where things will get interesting as Giroux, Couturier and Schenn will all be RFA.
I have no doubts the Flyers sign all three, And as things look now, because they haven't added monster contracts, the Flyers should have no problem breaking the bank for Giroux. And hopefully Schenn and Couturier are playing in such a way that they also deserve big raises.

I think the biggest misconception is the notion that other teams would be willing to part with their top defensemen.

G will certainly get a max length deal and a big raise. Schenn and Couts on the other hand will be in line for their first deals post ELC. They likely wont be demanding 5 a year. |

I also have no doubt the Flyers resign all three before there is a chance of an OS.

Not a potential top-pairing guy but Colby Robak also fits in that category. |

Byuf is essentially a PP specialist. No way.
He is ATROCIOUS positionally.
Winnpeg already relies on Bogosian in ALL situations. He's their top dog. |

No.
Can't believe how many times we have been through this.
I told everyone that Parise and Suter would not sign here due to non-monetary reasons. I said about 50 times that Nashville held all the power and would match unless given a trade they liked.
Now I am telling you that Ryan will be a Flyer. Not even just now, but for months.
We call throw out all the ridiculous Bog proposals and I like that guy proposals, and we can draw up all the funky lines we want. Ryan will be a Flyer. That is a fact. (point of all this is that Read and Rusty will not be our third line).
Cheers! |
