pretty obvious what your motives are with this post. More of a continuation of yours from last night I'm guessing? Anyone who is a fan of this team no matter which side of the fence they stand on deserves an award. Your logic with this being the fans fault is reprehensible. Let it go, it makes you look foolish. Just ask Dee.

Edit; Maybe you can be our new blogger? We all haven't been tortured enough

Yes, we get it, you want the team to move. You're not going to get much agreement from Isles fans on this board.
- UIF

I don't want them to move... not @ all.

It would kill me.

The Isles are the reason I watch hockey.

If they move I would not follow the team anymore.

They belong on Long Island.

The issue is there are not enough die hard fans on the Island.

Politics will prevent any new arena.

The people of Long Island and the casual fans do not care if they stay or go.

I think the die hards like you will miss this team alot.

You are in the minority though.

I don't mind if a die hard fan cuts up the team... but it kills me to see others do it.

- jimmc7722

I think what you should be saying is there is no longer as many die hards on LI. The constant revolving door of BS from past owners and present has pushed most fans away, even die hards. Wang's circus of ridiculousness was the nail in the coffin for ANY casual fan. Most die hards left I consider morons or dreamers, myself included . If Wang ran this team properly and had a competent GM AND we had a competitive team for the last few years the politics part of this would be going in the right direction. The shat Wang is trying to sell you can't blame anyone for not buying whether it be the fans or the politicians.

I agree with you. I would still follow the team if they moved though. I'm becoming more comfortable with the idea every year actually. If it means them being run properly and with some sense of professionalism then so be it. Never thought I'd say that. Why would you not follow them? Were you originally from Long Island?

i actually happen to agree...the atlantic is bulking up with nash, weber(?). isles get the news that their "biggest" acquisition doesnt in fact want to play for them and the very next day dee decides now is a good time to bring up how RDP is a nice guy.

who gives a (frank)??? can he play hockey???

talk about pouring salt in the wound

- LetsGoIsles

Pretty much said the exact same thing four posts ago. You have to wonder if she is screwing with us all which would be incredibly funny and explain a lot!?!?

I just couldn't follow the team the same way if they were in Quebec....

We just need a comment section. A lot on here don't read the blogs for obvious reasons. The others for the most part read them for comic relief I think? I personally find them maddening because the few I've looked at read like propaganda leaflets dropped by bombers before invading a country.

Believe me, I don't want them to go anywhere. I just can't watch them get run like this anymore. It's disgraceful, embarrassing, and every other negative word I could muster up. It just seems to get worse every year no matter how many prospects we have. Great, we have prospects! We WILL be another lottery team next year for the 6th year in a row dare I say battling for first overall the way the team is presently built. That is a disgrace no matter how many prospects we have or how you or anyone else slices it. That is bad ownership as well as mismanagement.

First off dee, if you did some actual research you'd know that the 17 year deal kovalchuk originally sign with the devils was shot down by the league which in turn got them fined and the loss of a 1st round pick which will most likely be in 2013. Kovalchuk then signed a 15 year deal with the devils that was ok'd by the league.

Secondly, it is hilarious that dp still thinks he's gonna bring the cup to the isles. Only thing he's brought is misery to this fan base. I've seen guys in adult leagues at the rinx move faster then dp and most of them are in their 40's or pushing 50.

And third, funny thing is last year was "make or break" for wang's golden boy, dp bombed as expected but apparently last season I guess didn't happen in that douchebag's eyes. Hope he gets booed again on opening night. Wake me up when it's april. It's gonna be a long agonizing season once again. Especially since crosby is healthy in pittsburgh, the rags acquired nash for next to nothing, philly is on the verg of getting shea weber, and the devils are still the freaking devils.

If the Isles move I will be done with hockey. Its just something I would not recover from. As a fanbase we have been through everything and the Isles moving will be the icing on the cake. They should make a movie about this team. So come 2015 if the Isles are in Quebec, Seattle or some other location (and the NHL allows this move while keeping Phoenix and other crap teams for so long) I will not follow hockey any longer.

Dee I am in the minority here. I will be honest I rarely read your blogs, but not saying I hate them or anything. I appreciate you blogging for us and I appreciate a female who is so dedicated to the Islanders. BUT how can you write about DP after a day like yesterday? We as fans have suffered enough.

she's been busy working on the new cookbook - "1001 ways to make cupcakes, with two husky puppies nipping at your toes."

We all know Ricky wants to play.
We hear the same every off season.
I'm not excited about it or gonna get upset. Time will tell.
If he can be a healthy back up and give KP & AN/AK more time in B'port to grow, great, but even that seems like a longshot - the staying healthy part.

And even if the new CBA has the buyout amnesty clause, they still wont do it to him this year. Not unless/until another injury of any length arises.

It's gonna be a long hot summer.

I agree. I'll still follow them and I'm curious if I'll still have the same passion as I do now. We'll find out in a couple of years. Wang is so bad that die hard fans like us would rather see them sold & moved just so we can watch a properly run franchise again. How facking sad is that?
