Garth shoulda packaged Okposo, Grabner, a d prospect (donovan or dehaan) and a pick and went after Rick Nash. The Rangers just added one of the best forwards in the game.

Add Strome and you would get Ryan...

Ryan will end up in Philly, it's where he's wanted to go the whole time. Unless they trade MAJOR pieces and still end up with Weber

His side, his contract, his rehab, his hope for the season.

I've always respected rdp and his desire to win and his dedication to the isles. I think it's sincere. But to allow him to play another game at the NHL level before proving he can play in the ahl for a month without getting hurt and play well is unfair to the team fans and rdp himself. The isles can't afford to throw any games away with this guy playing. They aren't good enough.

i really wonder where dee gets off putting this article out today...and rick, for poops sake, enough!! cut your losses!! if youre really looking to help the organization, RETIRE!!! not even trying to be mean, but he is legit hurting the team by taking up a roster spot and being a distraction!! ENOUGHS ENOUGH!!!! walk (slowly) away from the team!!!!!
- LetsGoIsles

I'm loving your comments LetsgoIsles. No offense to Dee but the timing of this article is horrible.

If the Isles move I will be done with hockey. Its just something I would not recover from. As a fanbase we have been through everything and the Isles moving will be the icing on the cake. They should make a movie about this team. So come 2015 if the Isles are in Quebec, Seattle or some other location (and the NHL allows this move while keeping Phoenix and other crap teams for so long) I will not follow hockey any longer.
- mighty13duck

If the Isles move out of NY I'll probably be done with hockey as well.

Excellent point........but again Rick Dipietro has some nerve talking the way he talks. He's got some set...........i cannot believe that he still chirps. At least be humble and say nothing. Otherwise you set yourself up for more criticism.

He played golf at a club on long island two weeks ago and my buddy who is an assistant there said he told him the same thing he told dee. Guy us delusional.

Nash finished near 60th in scoring last season. Not exactly tearing it up. On the way down in his career and he has to fill Gabby's shoes the first 2,3 months of season. Maybe more. I think the Rangers got the better end of the trade and since money doesn't matter to the Dolans, his overpaid contract won't hurt the rags. But all in all, it's your typical NYR trade for an overpaid player past his prime. I don't think he's the missing piece for their run to the cup but hey, ya never know.

On the other part of that quote, Garth doesn't have the stones to get er done. We shouldn't have to give up all of that for Ryan....some draft picks in place of Strome or Lee or Nelson but there's gotta be a package that's better than most other teams can offer....I mean, we have all these prospects, right? They won't all pan out nor do we have room for all of 'em, so at some point, you have to jump into the game and make some trades....before we hit the bottom of the barrel.

Oh, that's right....nobody wants to come here.....boo f'in hoo....
Can't believe I'm saying this but at least Milbury TRIED.

It really doesn't matter how much any of us can take. The die hards will deal with it and hopefully be rewarded with a turnaround once things are up and running in Bklyn with this team's core being young and solid. The rest of us will lose patience, stop caring for a couple of years, and if the team improves after 2015, we'll come back and jump right back on the bandwagon. The team knows this.

Truth is, the "fan support" for the team can't really be any worse than it is right now. They pull in 10K per game and all any of us really do on these boards is b**ch about them. And that's fine. Were entitled to do so after the garbage that's been paraded out before us for the better part of the past 20 years. But I know and I think we all know that none of the true die-hards, the people on these boards, will not be there supporting this team if they move to Bklyn in 2015.

Isles drew 14,700 on weekends last year. Better than most teams that have sucked forever. Hawks, pens, blues all drew next to nothing during their lean years

Uh Nash had a no trade clause. Wasn't coming here. Also moving okposo , grabner both makes the team worse even if you get a Nash.

Talentwise, the Islanders might be a little better but the other teams in the conference seem to be loading up so it will be very hard for the Islanders to compete for a playoff spot.

You are correct and we were doing the same thing then as we are now with Tavares and Hamonic. Those same prospects mean nothing till they do something. I'd rather have them than not I understand your point. If we had a GM capable of making a trade that would be an even nicer reason to have a prospect pool.

I agree with you 100% which is why I'm fed up and pissed off now and I wasn't four years ago. Snow inherited nothing. He HAS done a great job in restoring the system but at this point, the current roster going into 2012-2013 is unacceptable. I'm not saying he should be going milbury on us, but come on already. Alex semin is out there still. Is he the answer? Probably not and I get it that he has questions regarding his attitude but if Wang wanted to show fans he wants to win, he is a guy you take a flyer on. Throwing semin on j.t.s wing and moulson together Could be fantastic.

Uh hm. We traded for Rolston and signed Pandalfo . You are a hundred percent right. Time to do something. Don't tell us we had to make the playoffs last year and give us an even worse team the following year when we just picked fourth in the draft. Enough of this crap. If I was a season ticket holder I'd demand my money back.

Most of us brought into the rebuild including myself. A few years ago I realized it was heading no where and I was foolish for believing in it in the first place. I'll believe it when I see it now.

It's definitely was the way to go but when you have guys like Konopka and parenteau who were good and WANTED to be here and you let them walk and then go female dog how no one wants to play here you have serious identity issues. Neither player was replaced. I'm not buying brad Boyes.

Unless something else happens...right know the Islanders have three options. First, trade some of their prospects and get Bobby Ryan. Second, keep their prospects and sign Semin to a two year $13 million deal (someone said he is looking for a multi year deal at about $7 million per) or third do nothing and get hammered by the Rangers, Penguins, Flyers, Carolina, etc...who have upgraded their teams.
A few months ago ( I travel alot around the country), I got stranded for a few hours in LAX and I was at the United Presidents Club and I happened to bump into the president of the Flyers. A really nice guy. I told him I was an Islanders fan. He said the Islanders called them a while back to get some marketing ideas when the Flyers were bad they still sold out the old Spectrum and what they could do to get attendance up at the Coliseum. He said they gave them some ideas but the Islanders didn't listen to them. He also said don't listen to Wang complain...he has the money...
