Isles get D Nathan McIver and Rags get nash...yeah thats about right!!! - Nolanders
this is the problem (i feel) a lot of the people who defend garth have with the fans who find fault in everything....
not everyone thats going to be signed/traded for is going to be rick nash. if every deal is compared to rick nash, thats your problem, no one elses.
the rangers signed Brandon Segal, was that also a brilliant move??? |

Cuts both ways...while not every trade/signing will be a high-profile player, I'd argue none have been on or near that level since...Ryan Smyth? Obviously players like Moulson, Streit and Grabner turned out nice, but would you consider them, at the time, "big splashes?" I'd certainly say it's foolish to expect or want the Isles to go splash-crazy at the wrong time like Columbus tried to do last offseason (although, they did at least get JJ for Carter, who is a nice piece to the defensive puzzle they have there), but you do have to admit that we're the kid with his face pressed on the glass of a toy store jealously watching everyone else buy the cool stuff whenever we get to trade deadlines and free agency. I think folks just want something to be excited about to cancel out all the constant bad news. |

i dont disagree about that at all!!!
question is outside of guys like rick nash, jeff carter, mike richards (maybe a few more) how many blockbuster trades have been made since ryan smyth?
lets also remember garth is at a disadvantage being that he is the isles GM in that they arent a desirable destination and most of the franchise/star players have a NTC/NMC |

If Brandon has a pony tail, and is related to Steven, then yes, it's kind of a big deal

Another "D" prospect in the Isles system! Have we collected enough of them now to use as trade bait to acquire something a bit more interesting? Or do we just continue to collect them?

But at least McIver isnt afraid to drop the gloves.

A Healthy NHL player,
under 35,
who we have actually heard of,
with ample gas left in the tank would be nice.
Even a 2nd tier player like PAP or Ott !
Or is this asking for to much? |

UIF, I'm sorry but for the good of Islanders Management, HB and us fans (especially those who worship at the "Altar of Snow"). I have to ask you to STOP POSTING.
Your post's are consistently well written, informative, filled with common sense and contain way to many valid points!
I'm sure I speak for all of us when I say your no longer welcome here. .

UIF Wang and Snow just being themselves do all the work. SCLI and I do not need to do a thing. |

if this past season was year 4 (complete) of the rebuild and you "realized it was heading no where a few years ago", im gonna say you didnt give it a realistic chance to succeed. - LetsGoIsles
