He grew up in Cherry hill with Bob Clarke as his Godfather. You don't think he wants bad as hell to play here?
- JoeRussomanno

He lived in Cherry Hill until he was 10 and doesn't really consider it his "home town".

well well well... it seems Mike Gillis' comments weren't self-serving after all, but were in fact an honest assessment of the situation. Maybe next time you won't be so quick to judge. Gillis seems to be the only guy who got this 100% correct on all fronts. From Nashville matching, the term, the reason for the match (protect their marketplace), etc...

And the biggest thing is, is that Darren Dreger is a complete idiot. The guy doesn't know shiite. He's nowhere close to being a Bob McKenzie and its pathetic that TSN keeps hyping this guy up. He is useless as far as I'm concerned....

Pietrangelo's asking price would probably begin and end with Giroux, so I'd guess not.

Yes, Mike Gillis is a genius, you're so glad to have him with the ZERO Cups he's brought to your fanbase.

GMs are all self serving. Look at you talking about how awesome he is. You are just a sheeple in his self serving plan. Go on sheeple, talk him up more.

Anyone else as devastated as I was when I heard the news?

So whats plan Z? Ryan? Yandle?

- FLYERSROCK!

ek's right about one thing. Flyers ownership is always trying to get the pieces to win the cup. they are in on every single big deal going... and not just in a little way either..

There was always a chance Nashville would match. Most logical people assumed the Flyers and Preds would need to work out a deal for compensation to keep the Preds from matching.

From what was reported, there were no negotiations or talks to that end.

After thinking a bit last night, I'm honestly a bit surprised the OS wasn't like $125M over the 14 years or something. We'll never know, but I wonder what the breaking point really would have been. Maybe it's possible there wouldn't have been one at all I guess

Gillis ended up being right. But it was certainly fair to at least question his motive, which is all I believe Bill did.

A max yearly salary right? They could have had more money tied up in years 6-9 or however it was structured. Frankly the OS was a fair cap hit and Nashville is getting a good deal on that end.

Call me when he gets fair market value for Bobby Lou. I just HATE how your fan base etc is throwing him under the bus. It's like Cory Schneider is God and losing to the B's in 2011 finals was his fault solely. PS I do like Vancouver but this disgusts me.

It'd be interesting to see Weber's reaction. I always wanted to be here.. didn't want to go to evil Philly it was just so ownership would get this done.. can't wait to lead the team to a cup as it's captain..etc etc
